Why do the actions of past presidents affect your opinions so heavily? If all ex-presidents were rapists, would being a rapist then be viewed as acceptable? Why all the moral relativism?

This is not a question about George W. Bush or Bill Clinton.

Barack Obama isn't a Muslim. 9/11 grow to be over 7 years in the past, and our defenses are weakened through sending all of our forces over to different international locations to take their oil and benefit political administration. So if some thing, bringing the troops domicile will be an mind-blowing theory! Barack Obama is besides the undeniable fact that, a turn flopper. He voted for the conflict, and has no theory what he's doing. people are stupid at the same time as they bypass and hear FOX information or AOL to learn about the subsequent chief of our u . s .. carry out a touch learn in the previous you bypass make blatantly ignorant statments about someone.

It depends on when it was and the cercumstances. How ever, it will be a consideration on if I vote for him, also I always consider a candidates military veteran status, which automatically knocks them off my list of choices. But then again, the republicans have shown real disdain for any real veterans in the last few presidential elections, so that will get rid og McCain (whom I would vote for). The neo-cons will once again take over the Republican National Convention for President, and nominate a pseudo veteran like they did last time.

This candidates previous cocaine use should not affect his ability to perform in a presidential role. His previous cocaine usage should also not affect the way people feel about him(of course it will though). In my opinion it simply proves that he is human as are the rest of us and it is possible for all of us to make a mistake or bad judgement. Does that mean we should be condemed for our mistake no matter how slight or how long ago?

It didnt seem to bother people when they found out George W Bush was a coke head, so I dont think it will matter much about Obama. Fortunately, unlike Bush, Obama is NOT a dry drunk. I'd rather have a coke user in the White House than a DRY DRUNK sociopathological psychopath like Bush.

"Just Say No!" This was a popular slogan back in the 1980s and early 90s. Even though stars such as Drew Barrymore and Corey Feldman we spokesman for the campaign, they ended up using illegal drugs. Obama was honest about announcing his drug use back in high school and early college years in his book, DREAMS OF MY FATHER, 11 years ago (before he became involved in politics). Its tells me two things: one he made mistakes and overcame them; two he was honest and open enough to share them with the public. This much more than George W. Bush can say after being a drunk (and got arrested for a DUI) and trying to hide it.

Why should someone's "life experiences" in this regard have a play in the type of person that they have become --- His up front admissions on this subject are a telling overture to the character of the man !! And, the experimentation he was involved with was far less of a blip on the radar screen than was Bush Jr's long running dance with alcoholism !!!

Does every other current ex-president (as well as our current one's) past marijuana use affect your opinion of them? Did Clinton's illicit affair with an intern affect his running the country? I think that everyone has tried (or at least thrown the thought around) drugs at least once in their life. Not necesarrily cocaine or hard sh*t like that, but nobody's perfect.

If the current president is not up for discussion, then no-- he has every right to run.

How many people in this generation has not at least tried some drug in high school or college. Hardly any.

He is highly functional.

No, not in the slightest, and if any republicans say it does then there hypocrites if they voted twice for the cocaine using President Bush.

No and it should not affect any body else's opinion. He was my age (19) when he tried it. And as for voting for him, I think he's one of our best bets on a good president in 2008. So what if he's inexperienced? Bush was experienced and look where we're at.
