I believe there are some things that are illegal in the US that are truly victimless. I also believe that any truly victimless crime shouldn't be a crime at all.

What are your thoughts?

okay my boyfriend and i have been together for six years. ive been thinking about joining the army and mentioned it to him. he said it might be something he would want to do as well, but he said that we would need to get married first... i wouldnt mind. i mean, ive kinda waited for him to ask me, but now im scared that if we do get married and join the army we will never get to see each other and our marriage will fail... he says that its not like that. he says that we will be able to live together and stuff... i dont know and cant find anything on the net about it so i decided to ask yall. also, if you have a slight case of asthma can you still join? thanks for your help. id love to e-mail with someone who has been there and done that...thanks a bunch

I am a 25 year old professional working in advertising in El Salvador. I also have studies in filmaking, and my first documentary already won an award in a New York festival. I love my country but unfortunately I would like to work and know people that are doing the same things I'm doing. There is no career on film here and not much people to learn from. Therefore I would like to know if I could go as a professional to work and earn experience in Vancouver.

My husband was just subpoena'd today for next Monday when we're on vacation. We're leaving in 2 days.

The vacation cost us $6,000 & we've been planning for it all year.

How can they give you only 1 week's notice for this sort of thing?

His is the victim in this crime as a scam artist was using his business name to do business, picking up a deposit payment never to return.

The cops caught him in a sting with one of his "customers". He's also done this with other companies. My husband has a partner, but he was also subpoena'd & they want them both.

I told him to ask the judge/D.A. to postpone/excuse him from the hearing due to the vacation.

Yet he's telling me the D.A. told him he HAS to go.

Any advice as to what to do? Can they really do this? We're the victim here and we have to miss out on our vacation?? It's a non-refundable kind with a special group, so it's not like we can do it another week.

Please help!

Signed, stressed out with 2 days to go!

ok..ok..it was a team effort, but it's always a good debate as to who played the biggest role. My argument typically funnels down to the US vs. Soviets. The Soviets were physically attractive but the US used its millitary intelligence to deceive and destory with 00 agents and a-bombs.

Earlier today, I ordered America's armed forces to strike military and security targets in Iraq. They are joined by British forces. Their mission is to attack Iraq's nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors.
[...]
Saddam Hussein must not be allowed to threaten his neighbors or the world with nuclear arms, poison gas or biological weapons.

I want to explain why I have decided, with the unanimous recommendation of my national security team, to use force in Iraq; why we have acted now; and what we aim to accomplish.
[...]
Finally, our allies, including Prime Minister Tony Blair of Great Britain, concurred that now is the time to strike. I hope Saddam will come into cooperation with the inspection system now and comply with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions. But we have to be prepared that he will not, and we must deal with the very real danger he poses.

Ok, so Congress is against President Bush's plan right? If they vote against it, what does that mean? Since Bush is Commander in Chief can't he override them? Or can they deny funding for the war? What exactly can Congress do? I'm just curious as to what power Congress has over the President's war plan.
