I liked the answers I got, but what if he signed a form saying that his moms power of attorney over him and that he can't just call up and change his mind? Can a lawyer just help get his S.S. transfered to another power of attorney like his fiance?

Today at a press conference, President Bush said that he is the "decision-maker" when referring to the Democrats and a large amount of GOP congress members not supporting his troop surge. In a democracy, the citizens are the deciders, and they clearly have said no.

If people don't achieve the goals in time, we can reevaluate why, and how to help going forward. Why are some people against setting goals?

I never registered my name as a dotcom. So, I went to a conference earlier this month and presented on some random topic. A guy calls my office today and asks if I'd be interested in blogging for his little consortium. (My partner took the call.) Oh, and by the way he owns the domain name of my name. He registered it today.

I have an extremely rare full name (one other person seems to have it based on searches I've done over the years). I don't want to tango with this guy. Should I have my lawyer handle this or do I have any other options really??

Any thoughts?

My friend in New Mexico found a laptop computer in a bag with all the wires and connections at a bus bench. She took it home and I told her she should report it to the police and they can give it to her if nobody claims it after a certain period of time. Is she breaking the law if she keeps it and uses it and doesn't report it to the police? There was some papers with a name on them in the bag but no phone number or address. My other friend's dad is a police officer but he said that in New Mexico there might not be a law that is called Theft by Conversion or Theft by finding. Can you tell us so I can tell my friend so she doesn't get into trouble?
Thanks

I own websites and I was wondering... if there is a very successful website out there (as a domain name like yahoo.com), but they do not have legal copyright, or legal trademark, can I trademark that name and domain name, and then once I've trademarked it, claim it as my own, and sue the original owners, for stealing my trademark?

Because I don't know if just registering a domain name entitles you to that trademarked name.

This may sound alittle nasty, or even evil, but is this possible?

I believe that party politics has become detrimental to our society because we politicize everything. I also believe that our government should pass laws based on what's good for Americans, not what's good for a certain political party. We could call it the "Good for America" Act.

The vast majority of the civil war violence is in Baghdad. Why don't we just pull out of Baghdad, secure the perimeter and let them kill each other until there's none left or they get tired of doing it. We have enough troop to secure the city.

Many times I have read the Iraqi insurgents have used American provided vehicles and weapons to kill Americans. I have seen on television where our soldiers have found our stolen weapons hidden and buried, and where they are being sold in the market place. Does Iraq need to get it's politics in order before we provide them more weapons & vehicles to use to kill our soldiers as well as each other? Maliki has asked for more weapons from the US, and Bush has a budget request in for this.
