I came to this site for INFORMATION and SENSIBLE DEBATE , but lately and consistently I see this site as 'losing it's appeal' for a myriad of reasons . The truly intelligent users seem to be at an all-time low . I don't mind the 'clearly joking or spoofing rants', but IGNORANCE is Abounding now . Perhaps Yahoo should have 'cleaned-up the mess' FIRST, and then maybe worried about 'Stars' and other little 'ornaments' !!!

What do you really think ?

She has proposed that poor women sell their fetuses to medical hospitals and research centers for money. She says it is a win-win situation because there will be less poor being born and the women will be able to make some money. She said that a woman should be able to pump out 6 a year for 5 years and remain healthy. The going rate is 10,000 per (30,000 on the black market for third trimester).

Is this a good idea? Any thought?

OK, here's my situation. My daughter was sick and I ended up calling out of work for three days to take care of her. Every day I thought she was getting better but then the following morning her fever would be higher. Finally on the third day I brought her to the doctor because it wasn't going away. Turns out she had a sinus infection which was why she had the fever and also explanined why she woke up miserable but was better later in the day.

So I go back to work and apparantly, even though I called in every day, I got a verbal warning because staying home with a sick child is not an excused abscence. I had a doctor's note for my daughter to return to school but work wouldn't accept it saying it didn't matter, the fact that I was out for three days was what mattered. They also told me that I couldn't take FMLA because it wasn't a serious enough (ie chronic) condition. I say if it was serious enough that she couldn't go to school, it's serious. Who's right?

Do you think that groups such as the NAACP, La Raza, Mecha, ACLU, Rainbow/Push Coalition, and the list goes on and on...

Should these not be allowed as they are nothing but forms of reverse discrimination?

My question is Illegal Immigrants want the same rights as American Citizens upon arrival in the United States, but if an American Citizen were to move to Mexico, Canada, Cambodia, China would they be granted the same rights as their citizens? If not why should only one country have to change their system and not every other country as well.

These are not your father's Democrats. Men like JFK, Harry Truman, and FDR would find today's crop as alien as Klingons. They seem to believe the US is responsible for every conceivable evil in the world, they have no belief whatsoever in personal responsibility (remember Truman's "The buck stops here" line? Now can you imagine Bill Clinton saying it?), and they seem to have completely forgotten the concept of Loyal Opposition.

I could have voted for a man like Harry Truman, but there's no way I could ever vote for one of today's crowd of yapping socialists who call themselves Democrats.

What do you think of cops who sit in one place with a radar gun ticketing people who speed?I personally think police departments need to focus more of there time dealing with real criminals then people who are driving 5-10 mph over the speed limit When I go to work each morning I pass a police car with a radar gun in the same exact place every day one on the north side of the road and a few miles down one on the south side of the road just sitting there waiting to issue tickets.
Why do police departments insist on having cops sit there waiting to give someone a speeding ticket when these same cops should be out doing real police work. Sitting around issuing speeding tickets is not police work..do cops really go into the police academy hoping that they can sit around waiting for people to speed by them, if I were a cop I would feel degrated knowing that all that training did was wasted on giving out speeding tickets Police Departments should have the meter maids issuing tickets!

I know Fox News is Conservative leaning, and I know CNN is Liberal leaning, but why can't the Liberals admit that CNN is not 'fair and balanced' ? CNN is a Liberal Bastion of media reporting . The problem as I see it, is that CNN tries to 'mislead' its viewers into thinking that they're reporting only the news. . . ..facts, not opinions .

Source ? I was a long time viewer of CNN and until Fox News came along, I had no idea that CNN was lying and trying to manipulate the news . Thank you, FOX News !!
