Here's another idea: IF YOU DON"T LIKE WHAT THEY ARE SAYING ON A CHANNEL, TURN THE F***ING CHANNEL!! I don't watch Rush Limbaugh because he is a pompous ***. If someone else likes him, good for them.

Some of the answers to this question are outrageous. Anyone who thinks that BBC is a moderate news agency is psychotic. A huge majority of the people in Britain are liberals. That is a fact.
History has shown that the only modern, first world country that has never been under the rule of a tyrant (please don't try to pretend that Bush is a tyrant) is the US.
As tradition would have it, we don't need to be so liberal because we can trust our government more than any European country. Our forefathers set up the Constitution that way because they all came from Europe. Our gov't the way it is to avoid tyrannical rule.
CNN is liberal. Anyone who denies it is brainwashed. Fox is Conservative. This is also a fact.
If CNN were to come out and admit that they are liberal, they lose credibility. They can't do it.
At least Fox has shows like Hannity and Colmes where both sides get to speak.
Personally, I think you should listen to both.
Last I have to say this.
If you agree with everything that one party says, than you have stopped thinking for yourself. It means that you have decided to agree with your party, instead of your party agreeing with you.
If you are so liberal or conservative that you would never vote for someone from another party, then you are brainwashed to the point that your vote shouldn't even count.
We have to fight the issues, not the other party.

We all know, some just refuse to admit it. If it's anything against their views, to them it's biased. Hmmmm, funny how they only show the negative on the war and Fox News not only shows the bad, but shows the good that our men and women are doing.
That's why they label Fox News, Faux News. America has listened to all the liberal media for years and they don't like it. I, like you, watched CNN, that is all they had. America is lucky to have gotten Fox News. It's hilarious that we've "tolerated" CNN all those years, but how dare us watch a station that is not liberal? Ha, it's actually laughable and clearly shows their intolerance for others views.
So what, CNN is a left wing media outlet, I won't try to stop it. Fox news is conservative, so what! Yet they want to stifle the ONLY station that has opinions from both sides.
To those libs that disagree, oh please. I have to put up with the liberal rhetoric from Alan Colmes, Bob Beckel, Susan Estrich, Ellis Hennican, Nancy Pelosi, Bill Clinton, Wesley Clark, and the list goes on and on. I put up with them, then I get to hear the "other" side.
We are lucky to have Fox news or we would be brainwashed.

The status of who reports fairly or who doesn't will not make a difference to anyone. I am a fox watcher because I feel they give me more facts than opinion. CNN is slanted and they are pretty obvious about it. But this has no effect on whether I get along with liberals or not.

I don't think either are lying, just presenting the facts with their party's spin. You're completely right that one leans one way and the other the other way. I prefer to get my news from the BBC. It seems like news reporters outside of America actually get the whole impartial thing that news is supposed to have. I'd rather hear a story and make my own judgements from it. I'm a lib dem, but I don't want to be told what to think. Otherwise you do get that huge political dichotomy that's more Jerry Springer than ideology happening in America.

In a word: NO. Few media sources are "fair & balanced". Based on the perspectives of the hierarchy, the media skew their broadcasts to reflect and support a specific political viewpoint. Considering this, Conservatives and Liberals will likely watch programming that is consistent with their particular persuasion.

Old longtime Newsmen thought that manipulation of the News was their obligation.... Best example was the war with Spain over the blowing up of the Battle Ship Maine in Cuba... It was a boiler accident but the Newspapers distorted things so badly that we went to war over it.... I think you are correct about the two networks, however, if you watch both channels you will get something in the middle that is fairly accurate...

I thought that was common knowledge? You mean there are actually people out their that have jaded themselves into believing that Fox is a moderate "Fair and Balanced" network. CNN doesn't even pretend to agree with government policy.
You have the world according to Rupert Murdoch and the World according to Ted Turner, neither one accurately reflect the actual world.

Geraldo is a device. So is Dobbs. Frankly, mainstream media information stations are over-sensationalized trash. They dont care approximately information or handing over significant thoughts. They care approximately scores and getting the main visitors. so they use incorrect information, sensationalize thoughts, and supply the spotlight to over-opinionated extremists. Dobbs exchange into fired because of the fact he positioned his very own own bias into information. Which, in todays media, is the status quo. In actual information, you grant the information and have the human beings think of for themselves. CNN and Fox and MSNBC ought to forcefeed evaluations to human beings because of the fact they are too stupid to make up their very own ideas. in case you have any dignity or intelligence, turn off the television information.

No.
The media, whether television or newspaper, only reports "news" that will bring in ratings. They do not report facts, only their opinions. Until everyone realizes this and takes it upon themselves to seek the truth, there will be no getting along. The division of our country amounts to ratings.
