AZ allows 33% tint...NY 70%. My car is registered under AZ. If I was to be in NY for a couple of weeks, you think cops will give me a ticket for the tints??

No they will not issue a ticket for the tinted window issue. You are a legal resident of a State that allows your tint. Window tint is a residency law. If you were to move to New York then you would have to worry about their tint laws.

Don't know about NY, but Georgia passed a law where their laws apply to all cars driving thru. This is a first that I know of on the subject of window tint.
In the state where I was a cop, they had a law that basically said if your vehicle was registered there or supposed to be registered there (i.e. you lived there but drove a car with another state's tags even though should've registered it here) you could get a ticket. Otherwise you got a pass on dark windows.
For instance, Oklahoma allows your windows to be outrageously dark tinted, but we wouldn't enforce it if you lived in Oklahoma, because you really should've been under their law.

They can get you on the window tint. As far as I know, it should not be doubled in a work zone since tint is not a moving violation. You should probably just plead guilty, unless you have the time, then go to court. Sometimes the cop doesnt show up, in which case they have to dismiss the ticket.

When considering "Tint Laws," the state of which you are visiting will honor the laws of which your vehicle is registered.

If you drive faster than the speed limit or have a burned out tail light - yes. Other than that, you should be ok.
