Where have you been! the controversy is not about the amount of troops it is simply about being against anything that Bush wants, if he said the sky was blue they would argue and call him stupid for even saying that.

Early on in the conflict many peope criticized the President for sending in far too few troops (say 150,000 instead of 250,000 or more) to secure the peace in Iraq. Democrats and some Republicans (including Colin Powell) were calling for more troops.

Later on, as the situation changed, many switched to advocating that we need to start withdrawing troops rather than putting more on the ground as the situation had changed. Even those calling for more troops were calling for far MORE than the 20,000 the President just added.

"REYES said, to the surprise of many", and your collective point would be..? The word "they" ,when referring to a single individual,is almost as pathetic as the word "we", being used when referring to the troops in Iraq,( Eagles soar alone, sparrows flock, Try some individual thought for a change, you may like it !!)
