i fell down ladders and hurt my back and neck

It would depend on the circumstance - if I was off work for a while and had lost earnings, I might approach the company and ask if I could be compensated for that, but other than that, I don't think I would sue. Accidents happen, sometimes there is no blame.

Was this event reported and entered in the Accident Book? If they don't do this or if there isn't an Accident Book, write down brief details of the accident and send it to your boss, keeping a copy. Make sure that you consult a doctor, explaining the circumstances of the injury, so that the doctor is in a position to write a report when needed and, if necessary, refer you to a consultant. There may be more to your injuries than meets the eye.

Whether or not you sue depends on the extent of any injury. If you were merely shaken and slightly bruised, then it probably isn't worth all the bad feeling it would give rise to (which would continue when it came to giving references to new employers). If it was more serious, then you should consider legal action.

Well, let's see...did you make sure the ladders were in proper working conditions before you got on them? How many ladders did you fall off of? Did you go up too high on the rungs and plainly say that those are not steps? Did you make sure they were level and securely placed on the floor? Were you wearing the proper shoes? If you made sure of all these things...then maybe you have a case to collect some worker's comp. But if it was due to your own stupidity......hell no don't sue. That ends up costing all of us one way or the other.

Its called Workman's comp and I recommend you get on it immediately. Every employer has to pay into this, so a lawsuit should not be required. So the answer is you don't need to sue or leave. Just use what is available to you by law.

If you are in the UK your employer must by law have insurance to cover this kind of claim.

You should definitely make a claim for compensation.

Make sure you see a doctor and get the details of your injuries noted as soon as possible.

All employers carry workmens comp. insurance. Tell your employer then go to the emergancy room and set up an appointment with a doctor and get checked out. This could lead to something serious.

I would first see what the company was willing to offer, that is if it wasn't your fault. See if they would pay your medical bills as well as follow-up care and all. Just to be on the safe side contact a lawyer and see what they could possibly get for you. Don't forget they get at least 331/3 % . Good luck

I would suck it up and deal with it, I think everybody should unless fault is obvious. I think we sue way too much in this country, so many of us want to get something for nothing.

If you are hurt, you need to go to the authorized provider for your workplace that administers care under workmen's compensation.

You should niether need to leave or sue.

If they didnt give you proper equipment or proper training then they are negligent and you should sue them. they are insured for things like that. you could have done permanent damamge to your back and neck.
