My husband was ordered by the court in Italy (where his ex and kid live) to pay $400 monthly. Can they garnish his wages for that amount even though he only makes $1400 a month (the Italian part hired a lawyer here in Texas to get the money)? To us it's outrageously high, we simply can not afford it. It's almost 30%. He's the only one who brings an income and we're also on food stamps.

I know it sounds cold, but if low-income families can't afford to give their loved ones a proper burial, why not have it paid by Pepsi, SONY, Toyota, etc.. Ok, if a casket has a big Pepsi logo on it, that is not near as bad as a person being just thrown into the ground. Play a few commercials before the funeral starts and no one will be the wiser. There are several advertising opportunities that a family could use to bury their loved ones.

im really getting tired of hearing the same old crap from the same old people. "liberals hate america." that has to be the stupidest comment anybody could ever make. so please, give me some examples of how liberals hate america.

i think this comes from the ultra-conservative talk shows, like rush limbaugh, sean hannity, and ann coulter (from her book) and less from intelligent thought. and our "wonderful" president also stated that you are either for us or against us, which implied if you dont follow what he does then you are un-american. well its the duty of people to disagree with their leaders if they dont feel they are doing right. but that doesnt mean we are un-american.

"Dissent is your right as a citizen and your duty as a patriot"
- Thomas Jefferson

i dont remember any liberals saying conservatives hated america when they blasted clinton. its sickening to hear that from people. its time to grow up and face the facts that not everybody will agree with you

We need to find somewhere for my mother, but cannot afford what most assisted living facilities charge. She cannot come live with us - we don't have the space or the time she needs to devote to her care. She gets some social security, but it's not even close. Is there some sort of financial aid for this kind of thing?

We live in Florida if someone knows something that is state specific.

I have read comments by a few europeans and canadians online that view Fidel Castro a global hero and his nation a utopia. I am just curious why people would idolize an evil person such as Fidel Castro.
I guess they forget about Fidel's close ties with the Soviet Union (yes a communist regime that killed more people than Hitler ever dreamed of, yet most americans aren't educated about that), and how Fidel Castro has some of the poorest human rights in the world.

Never to mind the fact that Fidel doesn't even allow its own citizens out of Cuba! Or about Fidel's racism against the african cubans.

I mean there are so many problems with that. You have diseases that could be brought here, and besides that there are many many other things. We know nothing about these illegals and I feel we deserve the right to know who's coming here and if they have a violen history. Should we not have the right to know thier background before entering? If your a LEGAL immigrant then I applaud you for coming here the right way, It's the illegals who are ruining it for everyone. I just dont see how the illegal supporters are so blind to the many problems that illegals cause. They are really hurting it for the ones who follow the rules.

If Bush is interested in being a peace president, he could invite Iraq's six close neighbors -- Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, Syria, Turkey and Iran -- to talks that would save Iraq from its daily hell.
Is this right or not ,if not why?

WE're so tired ot it. Now they stole our tools again and this time they stole them out of the locked garage. They broke the piece of metal that held the Lock.

And we are all asleep here at 10:00pm or by 12:00pm.. so they usually come at 2 , 3 or 4 i guess.

What can we do to stop these crooks?? Last time we called the police, this time too. But they keep coming. And it's been like a year since we got robbed the last time. SO it's kind of impossible to know when they are going to try it again. I could stay up all night and never sleep and check.. but that's unrealistic.

What can we do?

WE're not rich actually. There's many semi wealthy Americans around this neighborhood, but we are hispanic and my father does labor ( gardening).. but they always steal his expensive gardening tools. So today we have to spend 500 Plus to buy gardening equipment just so we can do the job.

aaaarrgh.. why us? what can we do? Now the garage door will be open cause the lock mechanism is broken

I used to think that America hating Communists and far left socialist liberals were in a minority, even on a place like Yahoo Answers. But check out the responses and the ratings to the responses to this question and tell me there aren't a huge number of Yahoo users that hate America and everything it stands for to its very core. I challenge you.

Smokers are basically drug addicts with an overwhelming need to feed a nicotine addiction that destroys the human body. So if Berack Obama is elected President who’s going to run the country when he goes out to smoke a cigarette every fifteen minutes? In addition to setting a terrible example for children regarding all the adverse publicity about cigarette smoking, if Obama is irresponsible enough to disregard his own health and smoke, how can he be entrusted with the power to lead the country as President? More so, he appears to have demonstrated a severe lack of experience by running for President with that inalienable smoking aberration haunting his credibility.

A very interesting point of Hillary Clinton today on the news. Her opinion is, that if the Iraqy government does not change their attitude in being more in charge with their own military forces and as well as financial support for it's military, the United States will cut funding. And than it would also mean that a slowly pull-out of our troops woul be in sight. I truly agree with her point of view. But how would you all feel?
