I mean there are so many problems with that. You have diseases that could be brought here, and besides that there are many many other things. We know nothing about these illegals and I feel we deserve the right to know who's coming here and if they have a violen history. Should we not have the right to know thier background before entering? If your a LEGAL immigrant then I applaud you for coming here the right way, It's the illegals who are ruining it for everyone. I just dont see how the illegal supporters are so blind to the many problems that illegals cause. They are really hurting it for the ones who follow the rules.

You are RIGHT that is just what all of them want, with out knowing the types of sickness they are bringing to the USA. They all think that all of these countries have the same type of Health controls that we in the USA have. The majority of these illegals that come to the USA have never seen a doctor in their life, so they don't know if they are sick or not. Here in the USA you see these illegals working in Restaurants, Fast food, etc. with out a medical exam. Do you know that Americans have to have this health checkups before starting to work in a food related area.? What about our children schools,, are they safe??

No one that I know supports illegal immigration.

I do know many, including myself, who see the human element in illegal immigration. There are innocent children who have no say in the matter. There is desperate proverty that forces human beings to try and survive, and greedy business owners and contracters who exploit them. Then there is the problem of mixed immigration status. That is, you could have a US citizen who is married to an illegal alien, who together have US citizen children. Is it humane to deport the sole provider of this family? Is it right to deport parents while their children are in school, thus effectively creating orphans?

You talk as if there is a simple solution to the problem, when in fact it is very complicated... far too complicated to discuss here in a few sentences.

You are stating the obvious. Of course, persons wanting to immigrate to the USA should be screened for diseases and criminal history. I don't think those who sympathize with the plight of undocumented aliens are stating otherwise.

No. I have been called pro-illegal by some scatterbrains on here, but I am pro-guest worker program. I believe that we need people who will do the work most of us wont do. I also believe that we should have started screening a long time ago. Yes, there are a lot of criminals here that are illegal, and there is no way of protecting us from them because they could easily hide from the law. I think that is a great error that has been made by us, but one that is not too late to fix. The guest worker program is a great way to start!

If you rephrase the question you might not get as many nasty answers. I don't think many people are in favor of illegal immigration. The question is what to do with them once they get here. It can be quite tricky, especially when you consider the ones who have been here for years, own a home, hold steady jobs and are making a positive contribution to our society.

All the ones that went through the process legally, got screened and was given a background check. Now most of (not all, but most) of the illegals cannot or would never pass a background check, so they do illegally. And the more illegals we get the more support they get from their illegal counterparts.

Notice that the one person who disagrees with you here resorted to names/ racial comments. The people who support illegal immigration are IMO not looking at the issues but rather they are basing their views on feelings. It is good to have compassion but to allow feelings/ emotions to determine what should be done for the health, safety, security, and financial well being of a nation is a very poor leadership and a very dangerous way to conduct business. I think most people have heard that you should never go into a business with friends or family well the reason for that is because decisions are based on emotions rather than what is best for the business.

Drugs are a huge problem. Much of it comes from Mexico. And it is a proven fact that Mexican men are much more violent than other races(this was told to me by a woman from Mexico..who is here legally). Illegals are a serious threat to our safety. They work in chemical plants and can not speak nor understand any kind of English. This is very serious!

Yes...this is one area that really needs to be taken seriously.

No. we want immigration laws updated to allow people in that want to work and not just deny them because they are poor. Why do you think they want to come in the first place?? Illegal immigrants dont have anything to do with our governments wait times for legal ones, if anything they are a effect of that. Why are so many antis blind to the benefits that illegal immigrants provide our country?

In todays world we have got to know who is coming here, so what ever is done with immigration, a good backround check must be part of.
