Smokers are basically drug addicts with an overwhelming need to feed a nicotine addiction that destroys the human body. So if Berack Obama is elected President who’s going to run the country when he goes out to smoke a cigarette every fifteen minutes? In addition to setting a terrible example for children regarding all the adverse publicity about cigarette smoking, if Obama is irresponsible enough to disregard his own health and smoke, how can he be entrusted with the power to lead the country as President? More so, he appears to have demonstrated a severe lack of experience by running for President with that inalienable smoking aberration haunting his credibility.

If he smokes, he does that in private. His views on illegals and amnesty are the reasons I will not be voting for him.

If indeed Barrack Obama goes out every 15 minutes to smoke a cigarette then he would still be far ahead of George Bush who hates Washington and lives on his ranch in Texas most of the year. Second I have never seen Obama smoke a cigarette. Where the heck do you people get your information from? I smoke cigarettes and Im helping and doing for others all the time. So I guess you would say Im too irresponsible to take care of other people. Thats just lame.

The only problem you can find with Berack Obama is his smoking? If find it pretty sad that this one subject would make you decide not to vote for someone. No president has ever set a good example for our children. Every one of them has been corrupt and adulters. If you don't want that man to be elected to office then I suggest you find something else that reflects his position, not his stupid choices of bad habits he has made.

let me guess "you don't smoke",good for you, neither do I.but I don't share your perspective on those who do.

who am I to say how another should behave or live when it is not effecting me on my land or in my house after all that is all the government will let me control to a certain degree(for now).

who are you to impose your way of life as being the only accepteble way for any human to live. once apon a time the U.S.A was so respectable that to say you were an american gave the person saying it a sence of pride.now one looks over their shoulder before quietly answering in a foriegn airport.

the cause of canser is not solely smoking's claim to fame and it certianly does not help lower your risks of getting cancer but it is a choice that an individual makes for themselves .I respect that and you should to.the government has seen fit to make laws to where one can and can not smoke publically (outside in what ever weather conditions)why because they didn't have the information of second hand smoke they have now and it is eisier to designate outide smoking areas than it would be to get all the building owners to improve there ventalation systems .

remmember once you give something away it is gone for good.Don't be so fast to give your rights aways and never asume your rights out wiegh your nieghbors.

Thank God there are still people with sense like you Matthew_y
I am not a smoker but am sick of these non-smokers up on their soap boxes! and now to use that as a reason for voting or not voting for someone.....give me a break
I have lost 5 family members from cancer......non-smokers and not around smokers
I work in the medical field and we have patients with all kinds of cancers and they all don't smoke either......GENETICS is one thing they need to read about..
Makes me wonder when the government takes a right away from them how loud they'll be yelling? Its all about POLITICS now...politicians trying to get on that soap box with them to win more votes....We are beginning to lose more and more of our American rights this country was founded on...what next? what we do in our homes? in our cars? already passing laws about the foods we eat....duhhhhh telling you....wake up before its too late

That will be for the voters to decide. I never thought that smoking would be an issue in a campaign. Times do change don't they. Example can be a powerful force. He could use this as a positive by quitting successfully to show his will power.

1. yes smokers are drug addicts (I quit 2 weeks ago, thanks to Chantix)
2. so are people who drink alcohol
3. I'd rather have a president who smokes than one who grins and giggles every time he is asked a question about the deaths of our military forces in Iraq
4.The current idiot that the supreme court put in the whitwe house has less experience than a runny turd coming out of Obama's bum
5.Also, the current idiot couldn't run a business, baseball team, governorship, and was a mediocre student at best. Its also funny to see him shopping at costume shops for rental flight suits

WEEELLL, excuse us! Interesting point though.
Anti-smoking people are pretty narrow about it. I don't mind the restrictions placed on for smoking, the fresh? air is nice, especially when its 0degrees.
My question is, how is this so important to bring up, when the anti-smoking campaign seems to have been won?
What about global warming, pollution from chemicals, trash deterioration?
Why do non-smokers sit on outside dining and breath in vehicle exhaust?

Who cares if the President smokes?! In a job that stressful, if smoking is the only vise that the President has, I'd be amazed.

Who cares if somebody smokes? Are you one of those anti-smokers people that would want to see cigarettes prohibited? That is the least of his worries.

Everyone is addicted to something, whether it is smoking, doing drugs, drinking, or even working out, watching TV, or playing video games.
