When everyday citizens are regulated as to the food they eat, the time to go home at night, and what to smoke or not to smoke, that is Totaltarian regulation?????
Is it too hard to enforce the laws against real criminals?
Violent crime is rampant. Children are in more peril than in 100's of years.
Innocent people are damaged everyday and made into criminals by making unpopular choices, when violent criminals are daily set upon unsuspecting people?
Our anscestors fought and died for the Freedom of Speech and the Right to Vote. And the Pursuit of Happiness. When our voice dies; we may as well be dead.

Ok, stay with me here. I know a person who is a career drug addict; she has been jailed for abandoning her child at a meth clinic in order to get high; has been in rehab numerous times; she has committed various crimes to get drugs and now has a warrant out for her arrest.

She just came back from a stint in rehab and two days later she disappeared after going to the store. I've heard she is flopping at a crack house in my neighborhood and I'm thinkning about picking her up and taking her back to her family.

I would like to call the police and have them do it, but apparently they have been called many times about this particular house, as well as this girl, so chances are they will not respond.

I am at the end of my rope. I realise more rehab will do nothing, but I am sick of seeing this woman abandon her family time and again. Is there anything I can do? Thanks.

I do not feel it is right to allow others to enter our country and live illegally. Why should we have to lower our standards to theirs because they have already ran their country in the ground. Now they are going to come over here and run our country in the ground. Furthermore, the cost of just about everything is going up in the healthcare industry and taxes are higher because we hundreds of thousands of people in this country that the tax payers and insured are paying for to live. I am about ready to go on welfare myself. I can't afford it anymore. The only thing not on the rise is cost of labor. And why you ask well its because the Mexicans work for peanuts causing the worker who actually has skill in a trade to loose work because he is chargeing what he is worth. Not saying the Mexicans don't charge what they are worth cause hey the work they do is shoty and is falling apart or burning up. Look at the facts. We got to stop this humanitarian BS and take care of ourselves.

7 yrs ago I was caught with a fake ID in Pennsylvania. I plead guilty to 2 charges, paid the fines, and was told I'd lose my PA driving privileges for 6 months. I had a WA license and was told over the phone (wish I had it in writing) by the PA courts that it would not impact my WA license.

Now I'm moving to California and can't get a CA license b/c the PA thing is on my record. Turns out I had to submit a "voluntary suspension" form which I never received from PennDot. They're telling me that I need to complete a 90day suspension and pay $25 restoration for them to clear my record -- which should hopefully let me get a CA license.

My question is whether or not WA will receive this suspension notice from PA and suspend my WA license in the meantime? Or whether I can serve the suspension in PA and maintain my WA license? I've been given contact info to appeal the matter and get a PA state rep to help, but since it's just 90 days I feel it would be quicker to just ride it out.

Are we so spoiled that we think no one else is entitled to the freedoms that we have the privilege of enjoying everyday? Have we forgotten our most important goal-not only as individuals, but as a nation-Love your neighbor as yourself. Men and women through history have sacrificied themselves for our freedoms and brought us to where we are today--why can't we do the same for the Iraqi people?

January 11, 2007, DemocracyNow! on Link TV & Pacifica Radio aired a powerful show today. Two of the segments were:

1) Sami Rasouli, an Iraqi-American living in Najaf, talks about what life has become like under U.S. occupation, how the U.S. is viewed and what escalation will mean, in reality.

2)There is a segment covering the fifth anniversary of the first prisoners being sent to the U.S. prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
"More than 750 men and boys from 40 countries have been imprisoned at there. Not one of them has been put on trial. Hundreds have been released without charge and sent home. Three have committed suicide at least 40 others have tried to do so. We look back at some of our coverage over the years, including interviews with former Guantanamo detainees and interrogators, attorneys, human rights activists and more."

The Berlin Wall and the Soviet Union are history. So, what is the reason we still need troops over in Europe? Should we not expect those countries to manage their own affairs?

Adding Robert Gates suggested 92000 long term (5 years) soldiers and confronting Iran and Syria is way better than the current policy. On the other hand a total withdrawal would be nice too. The Democrats that do not want a troop increase but are afraid to support a withdrawal are the true people that would effect a "stay the course" situation. Either total commitment or total withdrawal is better than this slow drain.

Once T.B goes we will have Gordon Brown as P.M. He made promise's to sort out the pension crisis, then did nothing. Then there's John Reid doesn't know his @rse from his elbow when it comes to doing his job,(his dept fail to notify the police about Britians convicted of crimes whilst working abroad) So will this country be better or worse off without Tony Blair ?

I think out of all candidates running John McCain is the best choice, he calm, loyal, and cares about the real issues, he is in the middle so he don't put up with either sides bullshit, he will go with his heart and not with a certain party. I just don't think Hillary Clinton or borak obama would be good, there just not presidential material, i'm unsure about guliani too he would be alright but just not presidential, but i put all my money on john, i think he will win all the way who's with me?

So far the Iraqis have either been unwilling or unable to do what is required for them to get control of their country and be able to run it themselves. What do all of you think about this? Do you believe that the Iraqis will step up and do the work? Or do you believe that the Iraqis will continue to be ineffectual, which will continue to make us nothing but a policing force in this country, as we are now?
