They really are sick people. Perhaps someday they will find a cure. Until then, keep them away from children and leave them be.
Or perhaps, we could place a constrictive device around the genitals, that cinches progressivley tighter in direct corelation to their proximity to children. That might help.

Just what is a sex offender ? Does the tramp peeing in the bushes in the local park get this tatoo ? What about the scantily (or non) clad females at Mardi Gras or Sturgis ? Do they get branded ? Perhaps those pervs writing into or possesing copies of "Hustler" or "Penthouse" or "Playboy" ought to get The Mark ?
Just where do we draw the line when it comes to publicly branding sexual deviants ?
We have good laws now. We need better enforcement and treatment options. We do NOT need further faschist erosion of our way of life that has been built on the just rule of law.

Just analyzing the way many people answer this question has given me a question of my own. Why are people so agast at what Hitler did? So many people have thoughts similar to the man who tattoed and killed massive amounts of people. I say no to the question. We already know where convicteds live.

Now let me answer your question... NO!
Why?
They should be locked up for life if they offend and are convicted by a jury of their peers in a court of law.
We don't need to turn all Nazi Germany on people (Germans who believed Jews to be a disease tattooed them to better spot them and even made them wear a star).
We, the free world, are ruled by laws and we should enforce them with great conviction when it comes to those who prey on our children.

No, but as strongly as I am against microchipping humans, if there are any group of people that deserve it, it's these.
Paedophiles, rapists & murderers should be microchipped and tracked on their release (if ever), never giving them the freedom that they had before ever again.

Good question, but I think it wouldn't work too well. There are bound to be plenty of party animals and others alike who would do stupid **** like put that tat on their own foreheads. You know someone stupid enough will do it in an attempt to recreate jackass to scare people.
