...or will prices there rise, or will the employers accept lower profits?

I'm just wondering where the money to fund this program will come from.

Am I retarded or what for thinking this, but I really don't ever remember the word "troop" changing its definition to mean a single person or soldier. When did that officially happen? The word "trooper" has always seemed to be the appropriate word to use.

The word "troop" is a group of people, or soldiers (cavalry).

Here are a few real examples:

ETACO
http://www.ectaco.com/English-English-Dictionary/
Troop = a "group" of people (group equals min. of 3)
21.500 X 3 = 64500

Webster
http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/troop
Troop = a group of soldiers (two or more...)
21.500 X 2 = 43000

ENCARTA
http://encarta.msn.com/encnet/features/dictionary/DictionaryResults.asp

x?refid=1861722098
Troop = a Large Group (At least 4)
21.500 X 4 = 86000

An online list of all legitimate the definitions of the word "TROOP"

A member of my state senator's staff was very helpful to me in dealing with a screwup in Lansing and Detroit. How can I legally thank him? Can I mail or send a bottle of whisky to his office?

Al Maliki or Bushco....?

I noticed last night the President couldn't quite make up his mind if the plan was an Iraqi idea or whether his new Generals patched it up together........ I await the disarming of the Al Sadr army.. not going to be easy.

I fear Maliki, like Saddam, is going to find out what it's like to be a friend of Bush.

Bush's cabinet is against stem cell research because its "destroying life", but he's saying that we need to "prepare for more casualties" in our military.

why is it ok to say "you cant kill one life" while saying "we're going to kill our enemies, and some of you are going to die too" ?

and if you say that the war is saving lives, please admit that stem cell research does too. there are 72 known applications already from said research.

You people impeached Clinton because he pointed his finger to you and said " I did not have sexual relationships with this woman, Ms. Monica Lewinsky ", lying about the fact that he did actually get oral satisfaction from her, yet refuse to impeach Bush who is sending thousands of young americans to probable death after it was absolutely uniquevocally proved that over 3000 have already died, that thousands others have been injured/disabled for life, and over 100,000 Irakis died in what is now seen as a second coming to Vietnam ?
How many more lives do we have to kill amongst our families, and those we originally intended to save from a mad man and give them freedom (before we killed so many of them) before Bush is told enough is enough and show him the door ?

Clinton cheated on his wife and lied to you about it while at the same time telling you "yes I did it but logic has it i must deny my embarassment"
Bush is killing your kids and loved ones telling you "I intend to kill more"

What happens if the Saudi's back the Sunni's as they have said they would? What happens when Iran continues to back the Shiites? What happens when the whole Middle East escalates into war? What will our governments position be then, if the Middle east does turn into a war zone? What will happen to the world economically?

Can I have serious responses to the question, instead of partisan politics?

Increasing the number of Iraqi soldiers, and U.S. backup inside the cities where the insurgents are hiding, to protect the community.

Arresting anyone, no matter of political affiliation, for violent attacks, or outbreaks, while enforcing civility in those cities.

Tell me how this won't allow the people in the cities to develope their government on local and national levels.

And don't give me any of those answers you are programed to say, like, "its a civil war...",, tell me SPECIFICALLY why it won't work in your eyes.

Freedom is something that takes place in your mind is it not. I'm just tired of everyone saying that people are fighting for my freedom and the freedom of others. I live my life the way I wish regardless of the cosiquences. I dont brake the laws out of fear of incarcerartion but because they are in line with my own personal morales.

So again why do people say freedom isn't free.

Lets say my wife's last name is Gonzales but the ss card shows Mary Ana Gonzales-Garcia. Garcia is her mother's last name. The dash and Garcia shouldn't be there. She Has been using Gonzales in the past. Does this means she has to use Gonzales-Garcia from now on and for everything. Would it be a big deal if she uses just Gonzales as last name in further documents without changing the name on the SS card. or would there be a conflict because Gonzalez and Gonzales-Garcia are 2 different names.
In South America, we have 4 names: First name, middle name, father's last name and mother's last name. i know most of the time INS would put your four names on the green card. Lets say her name is Mary Ana Gonzales Garcia. In the card the name shown is Mary Ana Gonzales-Garcia. First I thought that is not a big deal then we went to the SS office and they put the name just like the resident card.

What do you think of the Republicans in the Senate threatening to use fillibuster to block a non-binding resolution disapproving of Bush's plan to send 22,000 more troops to Iraq? Personally, I think it's a pathetic use of a fillibuster to block a resolution which has no power of law. Have the Republicans really been reduced to this?

My brother in law signed up for 4 years in the Army due to end May 2006. He already served 2 tours in Iraq and was forced to stay in the army months beyond what he signed up for due to his previous deployment to Iraq.

He has followed ALL procedures in exiting the Army and has been at his US base now for months returning all gear, filling out forms, etc. He was told and expecting his orders on being done and finished with the Army today (1/11/07).

However, he was told today that someone in the Army put the wrong date down on a form and he would have to resubmit everything and continue to be with the Army until he gets his orders. He is now in limbo, supposed to start his new career next week, and now fearful this is a tactic to force him into redeployment to Iraq.

He did his time and then some. The Army appears to constantly prevent him from leaving. Please help....What can be done to ensure a technicality (delay tactic) does not send him back to Iraq?
