1st off, there is no "Palestine" & never has been.
Israel expanded it's borders during the war for independence. Syria captured some Israeli land giving them a toehold on the Kinneret (Sea of Gallilee). I can't remember the year. Israel captired Gaza & the Sinai in 56 & gave it back. In 67, Israel captured Gaza, Sinai, Judea Samaria & Golan. They returned the Sinai to Egypt & pulled out of Gaza last year. The only areas Israel annexed have been Jerusalem for religious reasons & Golan for security reasons. Israels only legal borders are with Egypt & Jordan. Neither Syria nor Lebanon has ever recognized Israel.

That is a tricky question since there never has been an independant state called Palestine. So, to say what the internationaly recognized borders are between something that exists and something that does not exist does not make much sense.
Rather, what is interesting is that the UN Resolution that was done up in 1967 was worded specifically (at Israel's insistence) to denote that final borders were to be agreed upon by both parties... i.e. that it should not be subject to what the 1947 resolution dilineated but rather what was agreed upon within a treaty.
That will only happen when things are peaceful.

General Assembly resolution 181 (II) was made null and void by the Arab States and the Palestinian leadership in the aftermath of its adoption on 29 November 1947. In statement after statement on the floor of the General Assembly, representatives of Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Saudi Arabia not only refused to comply with its recommendations but also subsequently admitted to the use of armed force to overthrow its provisions.
The key is UN resolution 242.
1. UN Security Council Resolution 242 calls on all parties to the conflict to negotiate a solution
2. It anticipates that Israel will withdraw to secure borders (not specified in the resolution) in exchange for peace guarantees from the Arab parties
The Resolution was carefully worded to require that Israel withdraw from "territories" rather than "the territories." This construction, leaving out "the," was intentional, because it was not envisioned that Israel would withdraw from all the territories, thereby returning to the vulnerable pre-war borders.
It was widely recognized that the balancing of the ideas of a territorial return with "secure and recognized boundaries" for Israel would mean that Israel would not be forced to withdraw from 100% of the land captured in the June 1967 war.
More to the point of this question is that the chief of the Palestinian Authority is a Holocaust denier, just like that Iranian tyrant Ahmadinejad.

Resolution 242 is the last most relative to the asker,s question. It was passed by the UN and called for Israel to return to its pre 1967 borders. That resolution and its references to borders are Where Israel should retreat to. Israel is in contravention of both Un resolutions and the 4th geneva convention in the matter of it,s continued
"illegal settlement activity.
If you need to look at the various resolutions then simply type in UN and the go to resolutions.

I don't know the different border changes' names or anything, but I know they were all against UN conventions. Everything Israel has ever done since 1948 was illegal in my mind. And there is a Palestine, just waiting to get its rights back.

research newer resolutions 194,242 & 338 it will help more than the yahoos here
to those that say palestine doesn't exist. tell israel, they missed the memo. also that is as insane as those that say israel has no right to exist or those that claim there was no holocaust.
if nothing the UN does is legal, israel does not exist legally. the UN created israel, because the british got tired of promising both palestinians and jews the land and the resulting problems.
lebanon does recognize israel

First, you get the facts right. There is no country named "Palestine". After the Arab nations attacked Israel in 1967 and 1973 the Israelis took land that was held by Jordan and Egypt. They stole it fair and square, just like every other nation on earth has taken lands from one group or another.
So, in reality, there is no "illegal" border change. There is only what was then and what is now. If you think that the boundary of any nation is locked and will never change, you are living in a dream world.

Anyone that is foolish enough to believe that there are a group of people that are actually Palestinians are choosing to believe modern propaganda and are ignoring actual history.
