It's Republicans who want to win. It's Dems who want to quit. When you quit, you lose.

Do you really believe that Jim or are you just trying to stir people up? You can make a lot of contentions, but the idea that Republicans are against fighting terrorism is ludicrous and you know it. As for mobilizing terrorists I am all for that, let them all come out and play in Iraq if they want. Better to have the enemy exposing themselves rather than hiding in various closets all over the world plotting destruction. I will grant you that many people were against the way the war was being handled and voted according to that idea, but a majority of these same people believe that we cannot abandon Iraq either. I don't agree with some of Mr. Bush' positions, but I would be lying if I said I couldn't appreciate finally having a leader who acts on his principles rather than by ruling via opinion poll.

I'm sure the terrorists would like the U.S. to fail the answer to that is obvious but I don't see why you think the Republicans want the U.S. to fail..... It's impossible to answer that part of the question because it's untrue. Of course terrorist groups in the Middle East are going to rally and mobilize because were fighting them and each one is going to believe that there next because they are. The Bush administration is taking a new direction but it can't be done in one day. It's easy to think that the President can just walk out on stage, make a statement, and everything will change but it's a lot more complicated then that.

Last I checked, the President doesn't make the laws, Congress does and the Democrats just took control of that, so don't blame the party that actually does something. At least the Republicans aren't putting their heads in the sand and pretending that everything was A-OK before we went over there! Also, Congress are the ones that declared war - Bush doesn't have that authority!!

I think you're a little confused... It's the Democrats who deny that we are at war and want us to fail. If the Republicans had followed through on their promises, securing the borders, reforming Congress, etc. then the Dems would never have won. The GOP alienated its base, and lost seats in conservative districts to conservative Democrats.
Meanwhile, Bush and the GOP are the only ones trying to find a path to victory. The Dems are only interested in retreat and failure of what they see as Bush's War.
Thank God that Bush won't cave in to the Dems and retreat/surrender.

wonder how many Terrorists Clinton and Kerry killed??
wonder who cried the loudest when President Bush and GOP want to move troops to Iraq to kill the Terrorists???
So you mean that Diebold machines worked normally last year???
Have you read the news after Democrats won the 2006 elections? Al Quida actually wanted Democrats to win the election and even post the Congrad news to Democrats.
and I thought it was LIBERALS and the Democrats blamed GOP and President Bush using "FEAR" to win votes???

I am a Democrat and this time I will stick up for the Republicans: they do NOT want to see the terrorists win - I have no idea where you got that notion. Bush's move to put 21,500 more troops in Iraq is highly questionable at this point but... what if it works? Only one to find out!!!

Your a little mixed up. The Dems do not want to win. they are selling out the country for votes. remember how during the second Bush Presidential election how Bin Laden said if Bush were re-elected there would be hell to pay?Or how the new terrorist leaders are so glad the Dems are gaining power?

How could you possibly say that Republicans want to see America fail? The Democrats are the ones that want it to fail so they can have the White House assured in 2008. They are the ones that are threatening to not fund our troops needs in Iraq.
Bush has changed direction by letting Rumsfeld go and hiring a fresh team of military leaders.
You have been watching too much CNN.

How is continuing to kill the b@stards daily wanting to fail?
Have you seriously thought about the consequences of a "redeployment"? Saudi Arabia has already stated they will back the Sunnis, Iran has been backing the Shiites. If the whole damn area turns into a war zone, what will be the world economic situation then? We will end up having to go back into a graver situation than there is at present. It all sounds good on sound bites, but reality is a *****!

because the republicans and the terrorists have something basic in common - they are both kinds of radicals.
the terrorists willingly attack innocent civilians and try to manipulate how a govt will respond.
bin laden has stated that he wants to bankrupt the usa.
they are radicals.
republicans want to do away with freedom of speech and due process in the name of getting and retaining power in america - if not political, then corporate.
they too are radicals.
the republicans and terrorists are religious fundamentalists.
there are groups in the southeast who are trying to get all of their people to to move to one geographic location so that they can basically take over and re-write the laws - this is a radical thing to do.
there are right wing wackos who now protest at military funerals because they think that america is too tolerant (the phelps, in case anyone thinks i'm making this up).
basically, the republicans look at saudi arabia and see what they would like america to be.
