The 70 cent increase will be put into effect 2 months after passage. Then raise another 70 cents next year and another 70 cents the year after that. From what I am seeing on here you think you got the lump sum!

I say no for a few reasons.
1. Minimum wage paying jobs where never ment to raise a family on. They are for students and young people for earning extra money. Like flipping burgers an Burger King or Wendys.
2. Is it really my problem or the rest of Americas if "poor Bob" cant feed his family? No one made him get married and get a woman pregnant. It was the persons choice. If you cant feed them dont breed them.
3. If you raise minimum wage then the companies are gonna have to raise prices etc. This will force more jobs out of the USA. Why should they pay someone alot of money in the USA when they can pay people in China to do it for a few dimes. Or say Burger King will have to raise the price of a Burger more. Thus they will have to cut on employees and the the farmers will see the effect. Because they wont buy as much potatos etc.

And dont give me crap about not being able to afford school. I am gonna use my GI Bill I earned in the Marine Corps. I know there are many routes.

Not against helping people to get on their feet so don't misunderstand this. We that work have to take urine test to show we are clean and keep our job to keep the money rolling in. People on welfare just collect the money and never bothered by the testing. Just think of how much the government would save if they gave welfare recipients drug test.. ( I am not saying all use drugs). Do you agree ?? By the way , I do not use drugs so I could care less about drug testing.

You can't quantify or qualify the deaths of our soldiers. I'm a liberal, I don't like this war. But for the love of God if I see one more conservative downplay the loss of American life I am going to lose my @#$%. Their lives whether it is 1 or 2,000 or 500,000 all mean something.

So I kept getting these weird phone called from Pennsylvania claiming that my live in boyfriend was in legal trouble in their state. They left several messages, eventually I told them I thought they had the wrong person, they then asked his correct middle name. They sounded surprised, then asked if we lived at some address we never lived at. Then she asked his birthdate. This is all the info I gave her, then she apologized and asked me to disregard the phone call. It sounded like a debt collector of some sort, but could it be someone phising for info? Is that enough info to do any financial/credit damage?

I'm a senior in high school and I am interested in being a police officer. i am alredy accepted to SF State Univ. with a criminal justice major. I am not really sure what the Criminal Justice program will help me with. What does the criminal justice program really offer and teach and how will it help me with a career in the law enforcement? The details given by schools seem very vague and unspecified. And what other career options would i have with going with this major? I am not interested in pysch, sociology or political science so those wouldn't be another option for a degree. What are the benefits with getting a BA before joining the force? I also want to know what i can do to prepare myself for a career in law enforcement at this stage in time. thanks

By chance does anyone realize this is a serious matter?

Man sentenced in Birmingham AL. for threatening to kill president
Friday Jan 5 2007 The Mobile Register
A jail inmate who made threats to kill President Bush because of the war in Iraq was sentenced Friday to 42 months in federal prison.
First off I think it is horrible to even think of any such thing....but you people obviously don't know this is not a joking matter. And IF you are serious..God help you.

And for the record the "impeach the president" is just as stupid. Just admit there is nothing anyone else would or could have done differently.

Do you think it's absolutely necessary? I mean, half the people that recite it either don't know what it means or just do it because they have to.

IMO, it should be.

I am wondering the amount of space alotted for sleep and personal storage area on a subamarine. Pictures would be helpful as well as H*L*W dimensions. What about footlocker space? Or mattress thickness?

Enlisted mens quarters only not officers.

Thanks

I feel guilty for living this fairly easy life over here in the states. What can we do as respectfull citizens to make this world a better place.I'm to old to join the military. Even if I could join I would'nt have the guts.
