So my bf has a pretty messed up life. Over they break he tried to die but it didnt work or whatever happened. Anyway, the school found out about it and now they wont let him go back to school. Can they do that? (i live in NM if that makes a difference)

If that is the case as you say...they probably want him to get a mental evaluation to ensure he's safe not to do that on school grounds. There is a fine line between suicide and homocide. Check with the Supt. of Schools or the School Board for clarification and what he needs to do to get back in.

A very important aspect is his age, if he's under the age of 18, they can't legally keep him out of school due to the no child left behind laws. If he is over 18, than.....That's more of the schools decision.

what a shame about your bf...................really am not sure but as a teacher would assume it might have something to do with the way he tried to die................what year is he in? could he not transfer to community college and finish off there?

Best place to ask is via the school board for your area as each county has its own rules...................so it would be a good place to start.............one question i think he will come up against will be is HE ready to deal with school and the added pressures that brings.

I think so. Its the schools fault if he kills himself.
