Why do conservative war supporters constantly talk about 'only 3000 dead' like it's not alot? Also, why do the same people make constant comparisons between Iraq and WWII? They are totally different beasts.

I can qoute the different posts if you reeeaaallly want me to, but we all know these comments are being made.

But where does it all end. Suppose by Christmas of 2007 the violence is reduced to minimum and the troops are back for Christmas.

A week later matter the Iraqi sectarian tribes start fighting each other again. Then what?

a few freinds of mine as well as myself have some ninja/sameri swords hanging up on our walls and I'm wondering if it is legal to actually carry these with us. Is there a permit we have to fill out- were under 16 so is the permit age restricted- we don't really plan on ever using these things for anyhting but widling wood and such(maeby not even that-these things are extrmemely dull..) So pretty much My geeky freinds and i want to show off our swords and would like to know how we can- we live in United states, Missouri- and anyhelp would be much abliged. (also it is legal to just have them on our walls right?)

I want to go into buisness for myself. Basically what I want to do is do the same thing I am doing now but I want to be my own boss. I do not know the legality so I want to find out if it is legal prior to me going out on my own. Lets suppose that I worked for a ford service department for many years and I was the Manager of the Service department. I knew lots of the repeat customer and they knew me. I also new quite a bit about fixing Fords and knew where to purchase the parts for cheap.
So I decided to leave Ford, start my own car repair shop and used the information abtained at ford to contact the customers that knew me. Would this be legal? Would I be able to contact customers from a Ford customer list that I had? Soppose I did not contact them by telephone but by sending them a letter, would this be legal? What about not even contacting any customers but simply compete with my present employeer and draw buisness by advertising my service as a previous ford manager.

I've a friend applied for Canadian student visa in India. Visa officer rejected him and did not give him visa. He wants to know how long his records will be kept in Canadian Visa denial database? He wants to re-apply as soon as the record gets deleted. Is there such time table for visa applicant? For instance in USA, if you screw up with Credit card company by declaring bankruptcy, record only kept upto 7 years. After that no one knows what happened before. Is there similar thing in canadian Immigration?

I hear everyone from politicians to co-workers talking about winning the war in Iraq. I thought we won the war when Pres. Bush declared on May 1, 2003 that "major combat operations in Iraq have ended." Now we are nation building which gets me back to my question, Can anyone give me a clear and concise meaning of "winning" when Pres. Bush says we need to win the "war in Iraq"?

To allow manufacturing and sale of Gutkha, Tobacco products and liquor the justification given are

1. These things always continue
2. If we ban these all the workers of these sector will starve for livlihood.
3. Govt. collects lots of revenue which is used for the benefits of people

Arguement : If this is the case then the govt. should allow the same for diluted charas, Ganja, Heroin and Brown Sugar. These things have always been there. People are using it and related people are making money also. So the govt' should start selling these poisons and I assure that the consistent revenue that will be generated will be very high. We might be able to generate foriegn currency by expoprting or may be an IPO for the related fund etc.

The fact that anyone is still saying that Iraq was tied to 9/11 is disturbing at best. Theses ones support Bush because they still believe the lie that everyone knows wasn't true. People are dying partly because some still actually think that. Wow! Bush and Cheney convinced these so intensely, it is almost scary.

He also has no clue what to do about it, and is clearly willing to kill more young Americans trying to muddle his way out of this, admitted, blunder.
Sad.

Like after my boyfriend graduated from basic last june, he was told he was going to be either deployed right away or wait over a year, depending on which division he was put in.

Well he was put in the one where he has to wait over a year.

Anyways, they had him scheduald to deploy not til august, can that change now that bush wants more troops? *where he is wasn't mentioned where they are deploying more troops from*

Minnesota's Senators and Representatives (Democrats and Republicans) are almost unanimously against it.

We only have 2 dissenters. One is John Kline. He is a veteran and father of an Iraq veteran. Stand tall John. I disagree with you but I know you are doing what you think is right.

The other is Michelle Bachmann. She is a nut-job that believes the Pope is the Anti-Christ (I'm not joking. She is a card carrying member of the club). Sit down and shut up Michelle. You are unfit to serve.

There is a petition to stop funding for the war in Iraq (Sen. John Edwards). I am tired of this crap. My husband is in the military , and for a looong time I was standing by our presidents side...not budging out of pure respect for our so called "leader"...Gung Ho American! Well, my patience has run VERY thin with this man and his "Plans"....I believe our troops SHOULD be returned home. What is everyones thoughts on this. ANd to get back to my question.....my worry is, can Bush still send troops over without funding? Will he do it regardless?

Bush lying to start this war does not factor into their reasoning.
Bush not listening to anyone about this war does not factor into their reasoning.
Bush being wrong about every decision in Iraq does not factor into their reasoning.
Bush lost a war he lied to start, 3000 died and hard repubs don't care.
