Like after my boyfriend graduated from basic last june, he was told he was going to be either deployed right away or wait over a year, depending on which division he was put in.

Well he was put in the one where he has to wait over a year.

Anyways, they had him scheduald to deploy not til august, can that change now that bush wants more troops? *where he is wasn't mentioned where they are deploying more troops from*

yes..he will likely leave sooner than later where ever he is at. regardless of the initially planned brigades/battalions scheduled to leave they will have to be replacing the soldiers who are currently overthere whose tours have been extended. i am an army veteran and now an army wife. my husband is deploying in march and know all to well that when they are gone dont count on a definite time of them being home, just send support and love their way.

These troops will come from 3 Army Brigades & 2 Marine Battalions having their deployments extended & 1 Army Brigade being sent early. The leaks say the sent early soldiers will come from Ft Benning, Ft Lewis, Ft Riley & Ft Stewart. Hope your boyfriend is not at one of these. My son is at Ft Drum & has not been told to tell his men of early deployment, they leave between June - August.

It is possible. I am in the Army National Guard in the state of Iowa. Originally, people were supposed to get deployed in January. But, because of that, some of our guys/gals aren't going until April/May. So, if anything, his deployment MAY be delayed.

There is always a chance. Probably not many on the people on the internet would know exactly where Bush is taking troops from, or couldn't tell you.

Husband is in ARNG and the one thing I've learned is that any of it can change at any time. I am just hoping that they don't change his return date and end up keeping him in Iraq longer than a year. I'll be wishing the best for your BF, and best of luck to you.

It will change a lot but not necessarily everyone's. It will depend on what unit he is assigned to.
