a few freinds of mine as well as myself have some ninja/sameri swords hanging up on our walls and I'm wondering if it is legal to actually carry these with us. Is there a permit we have to fill out- were under 16 so is the permit age restricted- we don't really plan on ever using these things for anyhting but widling wood and such(maeby not even that-these things are extrmemely dull..) So pretty much My geeky freinds and i want to show off our swords and would like to know how we can- we live in United states, Missouri- and anyhelp would be much abliged. (also it is legal to just have them on our walls right?)

I copied a section that may cover you, if, you can understand the "Mumbo Jumbo" Ha! 2.(5) Ornament.
- 571.020... 1. A person commits a crime if such person knowingly possesses, manufactures, transports, repairs, or sells: (7) A switchblade knife; (9) Knuckles. 2. A person does not commit a crime pursuant to this section if his conduct: (1) Was incident to the performance of official duty by the armed forces, national guard, a governmental law enforcement agency, or a penal institution; or (2) Was incident to engaging in a lawful commercial or business transaction with an organization enumerated in subdivision (1) of this section; or... (4) Was incident to displaying the weapon in a public museum or exhibition; or (5) Was incident to dealing with the weapon solely as a curio, ornament, or keepsake, or to using it in a manner reasonably related to a lawful dramatic performance.

If you are under 16 you are not by law allowed to own one period. In most states blades over 10" are absolutely illegal to carry around. Besides a few other laws one would be breaking. And on the wall is a no also if you are a minor.
I also believe that the person who sold them to you could face fellony charges for doing so as well.

I don't believe any permit is necessary, but I wouldn't wear it around on the street or you might have the police after you.
You can feel free to take it to conventions, reannaissance festivals, anime expo, etc and kendo meets. Me and my fiance are fantasy writers and do that type of thing, his brother is a kendo fighter. I have scottish swords and shields on the wall, but for practice we fight with rattan or bambbo duct taped wrapped "swords" like they do in the sca. ( society for creative anachronism)

On the walls ya, but in public I'm pretty sure you can't.
I like sword of any kind, used to be very good at training with it but it was some years ago, try to get skilled with those, carefully!
I enjoyed it a lot, i have black belt in Kung Fu....again try to enjoy it skillfully, all the best........
