Today, I was driving and there was a traffic light that was yellow so I stopped. There was a police officer behind me and he almost rear-ended my car. Then he gave me a hard time saying that the light was yellow and I should not have stopped "I almost hit you!" But I say he was the one who was wrong for not leaving a car length between his car and mine....tailgating...following too close. I don't think there's a law that says you can't stop at a yellow light but I'm sure there's a law about following too close. What do you think?

What are the basic levels of administration on the Army? Squad, platoon, company, etc. And how many troops at each level? While we're at it, has that relationship changed since 1969-1971 when I was in the Army?

I would interpret it to mean Americans have to be constantly vigilant against the encroaching power of government against individuals, since our founding fathers were quite clear that the greatest threat to our freedom came from our own government.

But today it seems to mean everyone has to march in lock-step behind whatever war the government wants to start, as long as they throw around the word "freedom" enough. That is basically the exact opposite of the original meaning. Which is it?

John Kerry was never given the chance to show what he could do, so how can people determine that he would have done so poorly as President? Bush had a very poor record in Texas as Gov. but he was given a chance to show what he could do as President, so why not give someone else that same opportunity?

I'm in a college apartment...so I don't have much of a choice on who I am partnered up with as a roommate. I noticed he had some illegal things laying around one day, and I was wondering if that could somehow get ME in trouble. I don't want to just rat him out because he hasn't been THAT big of a doochebag lately (he was in the past though). I was thinking if he did somehow end up getting caught with it...he could turn around and say it was mine! i'm worried. What should I do?

I had this quote burned into my memory chips when I attended the USAFA... I think it is a very good one....

"The discipline which makes the soldiers of a free country reliable in battle is not to be gained by harsh or tyrannical treatment. On the contrary, such treatment is far more likely to destroy than to make an army. It is possible to impart instruction and give commands in such a manner and such a tone of voice as to inspire in the soldier no feeling but an intense desire to obey, while the opposite manner and tone of voice cannot fail to excite strong resentment and a desire to disobey. The one mode or other of dealing with subordinates springs from a corresponding spirit in the breast of the commander. He who feels the respect which is due to others cannot fail to inspire in them respect for himself. While he who feels, and hence manifests, disrespect towards others, especially his subordinates, cannot fail to inspire hatred against himself."

Major General John M. Schofield

To get those Anti-American non Democrats to realize that CNN, Comedy Central, and Al Franken are the only true and trustworthy news sources?

We all know that we Democrats NEVER stretch the truth or use things to our advantage to make us seem better than everyone else!

I'm Nancy Pelosi, and I approve this message!

What do you think of this? (pregnancy, religion, and assault)?
A friend of mine just got out of the hospital. Earlier today, she was helping a friend move out of her parent's house. The mother found out she was moving in with 'a couple of witches' and pushed my pregnant friend into a wall. She went into labor, and was rushed to the hospital. Luckily, they stoped it. She is only 7 months along. They want to press charges, but the officers said that they didnt have a case.
Any ideas on what she can do, or what I can do to help?

I am getting sick of all the 'young adults' trying to scam money out of me and the community with their lame 'out of gas' stories. In some large mall parking lots I have been asked by three separate girls claiming to be out of gas with no money. It is illegal to conduct themselves in this manner and I want to know EXACTLY which California law they are breaking. I've been asked for money for gas, bus tickets, food, and rent! I'm just sick of it because I want to be a good citizen and help a neighbor in need, but after the first girl scammed $5 from me for gas (I didn't really believe her then either but hoped for the best), I lost the good samaritan in me. I didn't realize that this was a generational thing for these kids. JUST SAY NO to beggers of any kind, and if you are one of these kids please write and tell me how you got the idea to scam your fellow citizen...and try to recall the story of the boy who cried wolf (if you can read). How do others deal with these kids?

I do not think we can take much more of the same as it will break the country and it is very strained now.

I'm the attorney for defense and my client has been charged with attempted school bombing. The case is between her and the general public. One of the prosecution's witnesses is a boy who harrassed her and some evidence points to the fact that he might have set her up.

Am I allowed to, in the opening statement, talk about how the prosecution's witness may have set her up, or should I just focus on defending my client?
