He lied about Iraq. wiretapped without approval. Both of these are well documented.

If we actually did some digging. There has been no Congressional oversight of this administration, which is truly unprecedented.

Actually, there is a lot of stuff that is, at the least, very fishy that has not been fully investigated by Congress. The Valerie Plame affair would be one, the Downing Street memo would be another. In the Plame affair, it was never quite figured out who outed one of our undercover agents- it may have been Cheney himself. That would be treason. The Downing Street memo shows that Bush and Co. wanted to invade Iraq pre-9/11. If it's proven that they lied to Congress, well, that's how Clinton got impeached. There're also things like the infamous signing statements and the wiretapping without warrants. Just because Bush is pretending he can do that stuff doesn't mean he can, and the president destroying the Constitution to give himself more power would be grounds for impeachment. I could go on, but I won't.

What needs to happen now is that Congress needs to investigate the administration. Not because they want payback, but because no wartime president _ever_ has gone without Congressional oversight of his activities, and it is ridiculous that we would start now.

Now? There have been calls to impeach Bush for more than six years, and the people calling for it don't have a single excuse whatsoever! Plus, most of them are communist backed anyway. The Worker's World Party has been campaigning for his impeachment three days after 9/11!

Truth Seeker, you've posted that BS before, and I rebutted it with hardly a problem, remember?

The answer is the Lunatic Left has nothing but their hatred, manufactured scandals, and non-existant crimes. The president could never be impeached, especially as things stand now in the house and senate.

I thought lying to Congress was an impeachable act.

The Republicans sure thought so when Clinton admitted to doing it...

well... the congress have opened some investigations...

I have a feeling... we'll see if there are any grounds...

it was hard to find grounds before when everyone, a Repulbican congress and president, covered up everyone's mistakes...

do you really think anyone would have ever even investigated Clinton's dealings, much less asked him to testify, if the Democrats were in office? no one would even know Monica's name...

He should be impeached for the Patriots Acts. I can not believe people do not know what is in them...and what damage to our freedoms they have caused.

Bush lied....thousands died...9-11-2001.

there is grounds for an investigation. here are a few reasons:

1. Violating the United Nations Charter by launching an illegal "War of Aggression" against Iraq without cause, using fraud to sell the war to Congress and the public, misusing government funds to begin bombing without Congressional authorization, and subjecting our military personnel to unnecessary harm, debilitating injuries, and deaths.

2. Violating U.S. and international law by authorizing the torture of thousands of captives, resulting in dozens of deaths, and keeping prisoners hidden from the International Committee of the Red Cross.

3. Violating the Constitution by arbitrarily detaining Americans, legal residents, and non-Americans, without due process, without charge, and without access to counsel.

4. Violating the Geneva Conventions by targeting civilians, journalists, hospitals, and ambulances, and using illegal weapons, including white phosphorous, depleted uranium, and a new type of napalm.

5. Violating U.S. law and the Constitution through widespread wiretapping of the phone calls and emails of Americans without a warrant.

6. Violating the Constitution by using "signing statements" to defy hundreds of laws passed by Congress.

7. Violating U.S. and state law by obstructing honest elections in 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2006.

8. Violating U.S. law by using paid propaganda and disinformation, selectively and misleadingly leaking classified information, and exposing the identity of a covert CIA operative working on sensitive WMD proliferation for political retribution.

9. Subverting the Constitution and abusing Presidential power by asserting a "Unitary Executive Theory" giving unlimited powers to the President, by obstructing efforts by Congress and the Courts to review and restrict Presidential actions, and by promoting and signing legislation negating the Bill of Rights and the Writ of Habeas Corpus.

10. Gross negligence in failing to assist New Orleans residents after Hurricane Katrina, in ignoring urgent warnings of an Al Qaeda attack prior to Sept. 11, 2001

No, they have no case. The "illegal war" thing is just stupid. Was Vietnam an illegal war? Was Bosnia an illegal war? C'mon this whole impeach sh*t is getting old. Move on.
