What do you think of this? (pregnancy, religion, and assault)?
A friend of mine just got out of the hospital. Earlier today, she was helping a friend move out of her parent's house. The mother found out she was moving in with 'a couple of witches' and pushed my pregnant friend into a wall. She went into labor, and was rushed to the hospital. Luckily, they stoped it. She is only 7 months along. They want to press charges, but the officers said that they didnt have a case.
Any ideas on what she can do, or what I can do to help?

I would consult a lawyer. It seems to me pushing her hard enough to make her go into labor would be assult and if the baby was born and died murder or homicide or manslaughter

she was assaulted she has a case plus i'm thinking ur friends friend saw her get pushed and that's a witness she just has to go to the police station and file a poilce report.. it may not go far but at least there is record of it on file and if she were to go into premature labor and give birth and there be some problem with the baby they can then file charges on that... or she can get a civil protection order to keep this girls mom away from her and if she comes within 1000 feet of her it's a violation and she can be arrested

What she should do is contact her local domestic violence or victims of violent crimes center. They will provide her with a legal advocate who will go with her to, hopefully, compel the police to do their job.
Your friend was the victim of an assault; she was physically injured as a result of that assault and there was a witness to that assault. The fact the the perpetrator is her mother does not make it any less a crime.

If that is what happened that is a simple case of assault . Contact an attorney so he /she can contact the district attorney to get the ball rolling..
