"12/08/06 "Lew Rockwell" --- I'm sick and tired of this patriotic, nationalistic and fascist crap. I stood through a memorial service today for a young Marine that was killed in Iraq back in April. During this memorial a number of people spoke about the guy and about his sacrifice for the country. How do you justify 'sacrificing' your life for a war which is not only illegal, but is being prosecuted to the extent where the only thing keeping us there is one man's power, and his ego. A recent Marine Corps intelligence report that was leaked said that the war in the al-Anbar province is unwinnable. It said that there was nothing we could do to win the hearts and minds, or the military operations in that area. So I wonder, why are we still there? Democracy is not forced upon people at gunpoint. It's the result of forward thinking individuals who take the initiative and risks to give their fellow countrymen a..."

WWIII; Is it impossible to avoid? The way I see it we have a few years here, after were out of Iraq.

Iran and Syria will start up some things w/ Israel or vice-versa, and the US will go in to back Israel. China and/or Russia will come in to back Iran, and so will other Middle Eastern countries. After that you have the European Nations; Britain (Actually Britain will probably go in first when the US goes in), France, Germany, ect.. Along w/ Japan will come in against the Communist and Middle East.

So BASICALLY (obviusly there will be various countries involved) you will have China, Russia, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and the weaker Middle East Countries AGAINST the US, Britain, France, Germany, other European nations, Japan, Israel, Canada, and the future Iraq NATION.

Who will stop this, The UN? I highly doubt it. With tensions growing in the Middle East, its a time bomb before this or something similar to this happens. I dont think either side would be bold enough to bring in Nuclear

why is it that the american medical association can directly pinpoint smoking as the cause of lung cancer but they can't pinpoint any cause for any of the other cancers? Could breast cancer be caused by the simple wearing of a bra? Could bone cancer be caused from drinking too much milk? Could cervical cancer be caused from having sex? I don't think so. The doctors say these cancers are all hereditary. Explain to me how a 50 year old acquaintance of mine has smoked for 35 years and has a 98% lung capacity and no sign of cancer. wake up people this is one more way for the government to scare people. the more your scared the higher taxes they force you to pay.

Anti-Semitism in Berlin, especially towards young Jews, appears to be on the rise. The capital's Central Council of Jews has received many complaints from Jewish parents whose children have been verbally and physically abused at school or on the street, according to a November announcement from Gideon Joffe, the council's chairman.

Since the start of the year, Berlin's police have registered 190 anti-Semitic incidents, up from 123 in 2003 and 146 in 2004 (2005 saw 272 incidents, but many of these were the work of a single right-wing extremist). The most recent incident was on November 19th in Tempelhof, when players in a youth football team hurled anti-Semitic insults at members of the opposing, Jewish team. Mr Joffe said many of the attacks were seemingly carried out by Muslims from immigrant families, whereas in the past Germans were mostly to blame.

"W", seems to like being a "one man show". He knows the majority of U.S. citizens do not support or trust him. Isn't it important to follow the will of the citizens rather than follow some off the wall "I can't tell you why" agenda from camp "Dis-repair"? American citizens like being a part of decisions wheither those in power consider it "right" or "wrong". Do you like the current "I don't care what you think" presidential attitude?

Drinking is bad for your health. By choosing to sit in a bar and get drunk and then driving home you not only put your own life in danger but the life of people innocently driving on the road with you. If the surgeon general was so damn positive that smoking causes all sorts of health problems than his warning label would say does cause instead of may.

To my knowledge segragation was outlawed years ago. By enforcing this ban that forces smokers to go outside you might as well send Rosa Parks back to the back of the bus. This country becomes more and more of a dictatorship every year and everyone just sits back and takes it. How many more rights will be taken from us? The same people who pushed for this ban are the ones who give no thought to drinking and driving. Obviously they feel that they have a better chance of dying from second hand smoke than they do of killing themselves and innocent bystanders while they're pounding down beer and rum and coke.

My brother is in a work-release program. He was also told (in writing) upon admit that he only has to wait 30 days. After 30 days, he applied for personal visits and was approved.

He started taking visits every week, no problem. Then a couple weeks into it, he was called in by another supervisor and told that his visit rights were "incorrectly approved" and his visit rights will be rescinded. He has to wait 120 days (1/2 time) before he can have personal visits.

He has not had any minor/major discline. The second supervisor said it was "standard" policy. But no one else in the entire place has to wait this long. The range of wait time is 30 days/45 days/60 days or every one else.

My brother suspects that the 2nd supervisor has a problem with him due to the fact that he was approved to pay only a reduced portion of the fees for work release. Does he have a case to sue?
