Washington has no shortage of bullies, but even we can't quite believe an October 27 letter that Senators Jay Rockefeller and Olympia Snowe sent to ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson. Its message: Start toeing the Senators' line on climate change, or else.

Do you feel that the British government is taking advantage of the British population and in general the public do nothing to contest it?

Recently 2 things have really gotten to me:

1. They are going to bring in a tax for how many miles you drive
2. They want pay increases of up to 66% for MPs

I don't drive but will do shortly, at the moment public transport is far too expensive to use all the time, however, the government is decreasing the amount of parking spaces at public areas to force people to use public transport. I.e. hospitals. In my case my nearest hospital is 30 minutes drive away, to get public transport it would take me closer to 2 hours to get there.

So, do you feel the British government is just using us, and do you feel we need to do something about it?

All opinions are welcome whether you are a Brit or not.

it seems we are losing our freedom of speech. the letter sent by these two congressmen demanded that exxon-mobil change is policy on global warming, and instead of using money to determine whether global warming is caused by humans, they should use it to prevent global warming. funny how the earth has had ice ages and warmer periods, when cars werent around. funny how Mars is also going through a warm period. funny how from the 40's to the 70's, people were talking about global cooling, and how they thought that america would have no summer by the 90's.
has anyone read this in the paper? anyone know that environmentalists have been wrong on almost claim they have made? global famine, global cooling, certain apocalyptic events, overpopulation?

The news came out today that Rumsfeld was about to advise Bush that strategies in Iraq needed some drastic changes, but for some strange reason resigned the day after mid-term elections.

Very odd...

Why?

I saw AE's Intervention last night. It is a documentary program that follows people who have alcohol/drug use problems. The story was about a woman who had a very serious problem with drinking. At 2 points during the show the woman was given a ride by the documentary producers because they did not want her to drive. I believe that to shoot a true documentary one should not interfer in the result, because then you become a participant, and the show is not longer a documentary. For instance if you saw that movie, The March of the Penguins, even though many penguins died from starvation, attacks and the elements, the producers did not interfer and let nature take its course. I understand that in Intervention we are talking about humans, but should a person shooting a documentary become involved in it to that level. This is just something I've been thinking about. Serious answers only, please.

Im doing a research paper on the war in iraq. Basically, my paper is about the war adn if it's worth everything were doing for it. I mean our soldiers are dying and being wounded by the day. Im going to be one of those soldiers next year. Im joining the marines and I would like to know if im going to die when I do. I don't have a problem with dying for my country, but I do if it's going to be senseless. I want to know if what were doing is justified. How much of our goal have we accomplished? And when will it be over?

It's not even like that Turks want to be part of the EU anyway. Opening the door to Turkey also means opening the door to all of the immigrants that would change the overall European Face. Turkey would then become a gateway to all other emmigrants in the region. No Europeans want to see their beautiful cultures be overcome by the Kebab-culture. It's not even like Turkey is part of Europe...If I wanted to go to a city overrun with anti-amrican Islamic Fundamentalists, i would got to Tehran. For now, however, I want to be able to buy bagguette in Paris instead of greasy kebab.

Would a presidential self-pardon be upheld?

The president is, after all, a US citizen. And, last I checked, presidents are allowed to pardon citizens for even the most absurd reasons (in fact, I'm not even sure a reason is even necessary).

Seriously, where do the people get this stuff: I have seen loosechange 2nd edition and any other video out there linking the govt to 9/11. I have to say it is farse. Several reasons:

1) The towers failed: Not because the steel beams turned to "molten" metal. They warped and bent. Causing failure.

2) If is was controlled demolition as claimed: why did the top fall first? In all the video evidence used from other buildings they fall bottom up. Not top down?

3) The the demo building video's show 100's of mini explosions used to blow out the buildings support and bring it down. The WTC "explosions" show 8 so called demo charges. Clearly not enough to topple the 5th tallest buildings in the world.

4) The Pentagon: Airplane shredded on impact with reinforced concrete and steel.

so conspirecy people how can you fathom the non-sense?
