Would a presidential self-pardon be upheld?

Hey Tank--
Nixon was pardoned by Ford and was never convicted. And I believe Oliver North was pardoned without a conviction as well.

For those of you inclined to answer "no," how could a presidential self-pardon be appealed? Who has standing to appeal it? Who has the authority to overturn it? With whom would the appeal be filed?
