why yes they are. The evil SOBs have spread their evil throughout the world. Enslaving murdering and destroying the planet. Satan's work if you ask me.

I agree with what another guy said, primitive men have done horrible things, religion or not. the religion is just a sheild for behaviors which they were already doing and will continue to do, religion or not.
They don't need Islam to want to strap bombs on their baby,
they don't need Christianity to want to burn women at the stake.
Religion is just an excuse to do whatever crazy behavior they would do anyway.
Look at all the atheist societies who's king of the universe is their dictator and they bow to the state--they have been some of the most brutal and evil regimes ever and caused more destruction in 20 years than Christianity could in 200.
North Korea is a nice example. The horrors that have gone on in that country that many people aren't aware of are unspeakable.

There was one heck of a lot of evil in the world before the Abrahamic religions. Within them the question of evil came to be considered and condemned - but human nature has normally proved stronger that the strictures of the wisest theologians, and religion itself has often lent itself a s a cloak or justification for evil.

No, its the people who do bad things not the religon. Like the Spanish inquzition or the crusaides and blowing up buildings all in the name of God. Its the people that distort religon. Basic religous principles are good.
