A family member was raped in 1998 did not report it to the police I heard that if it was before 2001 you only had five years to file if it was after 2001 it went to 10 years Please I need to know it is in Kansas where she lives

I have signed a legal contract, had it witnessed, can i cancel it? Delay paying out being the major factor, the small print didn't give us a time element so does this mean a comapny can keep you waiting as long as it likes if you have already signed this contract? We signed this contract in March/June 2006 and still waiting for our cheque. I am being unreasonable as the item i am selling has increased in value?

for things like global warming, when the risk of it could have terrible and deadly consequences for us. It seems to me to be like buying car insurance...we could at least begin to protect ourselves...it would be cheaper to start sooner and might not even affect our economy to the negative...so why don't we do something. Why are some people so unwilling to see scientific data or work so hard to find alternative and obscure data denying problems

Ok from the answers in most of you would have, some still would and the small lefty minority wouldn't. Fine.
Let me ask you this - if things carry on getting worse (a few more 7/7's, 9/11's etc) - Will YOU be willing to take up arms to defend YOUR country. (Not for Blair, Bush etc) - For you and your people?

A thin extremist sliver of the most conservative Republicans drummed up support for this quagmire on flimsey and false evidence. Granted too many Democrats rolled over and played dead in order to enable it, but I see this as a Republican war of choice. They had all the power in both houses and the executive branch AND the bully pulpit of the media .
Any one else feel this way?

My husband Traded in a Van for a Truck at a Car dealership. The dealer told my husband that the truck had been overhauld and was in good shape. So, he then traded his vechile for the truck because he wanted a truck. Even Trade- and No warrenty paper. Within Weeks my husband had to change break pads, and A rotor, steering column,drop a leaking fuel tank, and now has to have a whole new Engine put in it becuse the machinc says that all his barings are shot. He called the dealer and the dealer would not trade him back. So he is taking it to court. What are his chances? I personally think he may not have a chance because of the no warrenty. But, the Mechanic and my husband say he does because that Truck should of not been sold like that.. I don't know. would like an opinion from someone that knows about small claims. Or about Vehicles or had this happen before..Btw..we live in Missouri. if laws are different state to state

I had a crash a while ago which turned out to be my fault even though it wasnt as the person on the toher end made up a story which the insurers appeared to belive even though anyone could tell it was made up.

It was all sorted a long time ago but I was wondering how can he get away with it especially when there were witnesses to say he wasnt doing what he said. It caused me problems and just how common is this.

Also whats the best way to go and prove a story wrong even when you cant get hard evidence although it should be obvious it was all made up. The basic thing is he said he was pulling up to the side to park on a 2 lane road?
