Not at all, the country was at least stable, Saddam had mellowed enough for his neighbours not to fear him, and for moves to made to re-admit Iraq into the Arab league.
However, If the US. led sanctions had still been in place then the children of Iraq would continue to die of stavation in their hundreds of thousands.

Many would wish to think so. No way to know. If it wasn't the Kurd villages, it would likely have been another group who happened to be the victim of the day. Saddam was an animal, correction, IS an animal. He had no regard for human life other than his own. His personal history shows him to be a brutal, unfeeling thug, capable of mass murder and genocide. The world will be just a smidgen better when he leaves it.

Saddam had no problem using chemical weapons against his own civilians, so I'd say there's a great chance. And considering the only Iraqi's the US troops are killing are enemy combatants, and the rest are killed by sectarian violence, by Iraqis, I'd say that hatred and sectarianism that lay beneath them would have erupted over time anyway

No, Saddam's purging were driven by political reasons, he had his reign of terror. By removing Saddam, we opened the door to the current secretarian violence.
