My negative experiences have far outweighed the positive. It seems they don't know how to find your stolen car (or even dust for prints if you find it yourself, as I did) or award custody to the right parent, or protect people who need protecting. It seems as if cops exist to collect revenue, and lawyers to groundlessly sue innocent people for all they have in the world. Tell me something that doesn't make me despair for the waste of my tax dollars in having such useless law enforcers.

I am fairly certain that all of the readers of this answers.yahoo have heard or read the phrase the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
This was stolen from a Thomas Paine who said we have the right to life liberty and property.
The founding fathers did not want to give us the right to property so Jefferson took that part out and inserted the right to pursue happiness.

If we have this right as citizens of the USA then why are there vice laws?
Why are there laws against jumping off bridges or embankments, or any number of other 5150’s.
Why are there anti drug or prostitution laws.
As long as I am of age and not harming anyone else why are there laws to stop me from doing anything.
If the idea is to protect the city, state, etcetera from liability then just make it so they can not be sued because you did something that harmed yourself.

For those who say citizens will pick up the tab then criminalize driving the car it kills or disables thousands each & every year

The Ny law reads "An employer is not obliged to pay an employee for hours that he did not work, but in making a deduction from wages for lateness or absence, may deduct only the value of the time missed; the deduction of a penalty for lateness or absence is illegal. " So yes or no?

The ones who stamped their documents, that said yeah it's okay to give these guys entry into the country, do you think they should ever be allowed that responsibility again,in their lifetime.Look at the hoops that they make ordinary people jump through for a visa who just want to visit their sister and spend a couple hours at Disney World.

The Americans have lost 2800 brave young Men and Britain 125.
They gave their lives for the people of Iraq, who seem not to appreciate it......Why do we poke our noses into other peoples affairs? If Countries don't want Democracy, should we force it upon them?

Can a male cop search a female, like a pat down? Can I get out of my car to get air if the cop is taking too long? Do I have to turn my radio off? Do I have to take my sunglasses off? Can I tell the cop what I think of him? Also under what circumstances can I defend myself physically against a cop? How long can I drive before pulling over after a cop turns on his lights?

It seems that almost every week we here of a bomb or some other means of killing police or potential recruites in Iraq. Why can they not fortify these buildings to the extent an army base is? Also would it not make more sense to hire an absurd number of Iraqi's to police and build their army and help resolve this conflict. I would think that these added police and soldiers would have money to spend from thier wages and help build their own economy, surely this couldn't cost more than the lives of our soldiers!
