In all actuality, you could be in Basic Training in a week. That's how long it would take to run the checks and do the paperwork, give the ASVAB, for you to complete the medical, choose your job, and then ship. That, of course, is provided you need NO waivers (medical, moral).

The best answer to your question would be to contact your local Army recruiting office. They will be able to tell you how to sign up, and about how long the training will be before you can be sent to Iraq. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to detail in the training camp, but once your training is complete and the Army feels you are ready, they will tell you.

Good Luck :-)

well, you need to take the asvab and medical exams. At the fastest I imagine you being able to get sent off to basic training in 2months. Then basic training takes 9 weeks. Then you need additional training for your job. Picking infantry should get you there and it is only 4 more weeks of training. Then you have to just get assigned to a unit and wait for deployment, probably 6 months at most depending on when they are set to rotate, or you might get sent to Korea, but probably Iraq. So I would say as early 6 - 7 months, as long as 11 - 12 months

This is mostly dependant on you... is your life set up? If it is you will set down and the ASVAB, results will come in, then you will go to MEPS and pick a job that you will qualified then they will set up you entry date for basic training. Depending on when that date is you might get put in Delayed entry for up to a year. After attending Basic (9 weeks) you will be sent to AIT. Depending on you job of choice this, could take anywhere from 5 weeks to nearly a year. Then at last you will finally be assigned to your unit.
So, if you go right away anywhere from 13 weeks to a year. If you enter the DEP program 1 1/2 years to two. GO ARMY!!!
