The Americans have lost 2800 brave young Men and Britain 125.
They gave their lives for the people of Iraq, who seem not to appreciate it......Why do we poke our noses into other peoples affairs? If Countries don't want Democracy, should we force it upon them?

Wholly unjustifiable.

We went to war for the wrong reasons. Iraq had nothing to do with 911. Iraq had no WMDs left. Iraq posed no threat to the west. Iraq had nothing to do with international terrorism. By the time the politicians started trying to justify the war in terms of regime change and bringing democracy, you know it should never have happened.

If we go to war with Iraq simple to get rid of a dictator, surely we should have to do the same in every other dictatorship in the world today, just to be consistent?

The effect of the war has been to ruin the infrastructure of the country, open the country to factional insurgency, open the country to international terrorism and lower the standard of living and personal security for the average Iraqi.

And what have we gained? Budding democracy that nobody asked for and that the Arab mentality does not comprehend?

I work on the reconstruction side of things in Iraq, and can confirm that most of the money ear-marked for reconstruction has simply been diverted into providing security for those trying to implement the reconstruction. Many of those reconstruction projects that have been completed are simply destroyed by the insurgents as soon as they have been completed.

So what have we achieved? We've destroyed a country. We opened it up to international terrorism. And the war has resulted in the deaths of over 3,000 coalition servicemen, over 50,000 Iraqis and 369 contractors.

If Saddam Hussein is facing the death penalty for the number of deaths he was responsible for by illegal actions, then in my opinion we should similarly hang George W Bush and Tony Blair too.

nicely, the GB isn't needed spending too little yet on the incorrect equipment, this became right into a time-honored time I heard somebody renowned this. thank you... I recommend the SA80 (L85A2) even after receiving 10,000+ lawsuits, The British Gov insisted on conserving the SA80 (arguably the worst attack rifle nevertheless being issued to a sought after infantry unit) And having the H&ok adjust it (which became into owned by making use of the British on the time) whilst, they could have merely offered the G36 like the united kingdom police; for mere $800 consistent with unit. No, it had to be of uk layout and beginning place... yet what's worse than letting the Germans fix it? Come on... (LA85A2) "If uncovered to effective sand." IF? the place else are you meant to apply it? you may not blame the M16 (Stoner) varieties such as M4A1(XM177) in view that they have been initially designed lower back in 1960's; however the SA80? the place have been they anticipating the troops to apply them? From 1985~ in the event that they wanted a bullup, they could have offered the Stg.seventy seven (AUG) from the Austrians like the Australian military. Why they had to layout and concern the worst modern attack rifile Now perhaps yet not whilst the warriors needed them the main. And M4A1s are being replaced with M416 and 468 (additionally H&ok modded unhappy...) yet once you're saying you have not have been given a choper. (not sufficient of them) why could you want a bullup? It became into for sure designed for city attempt against e.g. M-Tavor-21 (MTAR) And Stg.seventy seven, you'll be able to desire to swap (the ejection port) to permit you to fire from the left shoulder (FN F2000, you do not even could desire to take it aside) i'm a firearms expert btw. there is not something i be attentive to extra desirable than weapons, yet there is not any catagory at here so i'm happy i could desire to talk it with somebody. thank you.

No action is worth the cost of innocent lives but sometimes it becomes necessary. As far as Iraq, I believe it was not worth it because there are a few other Countries out there who need to be put in place and are much more dangerous than Iraq ever was.

Examples: North Korea and Iran

Unfortunately, The USA and Great Britain does not see that.

It's the same stuff that happened in Vietnam, people there don't appreciate what was happening or i think they don't understand what was happening to really appreciate it. And i think that should be some sort of explanation to all those people of what is really going on there.

I think it is pointless to let american soldiers die for non-american people who don't give a crap about america or them, DAMNIT use our men and equipment under a real threat for God sakes.
Those people don't want democracy they just want their freaking madman telling them what to do and killing them in the process

This is not a freaking war anymore i don't see nobody on either sides on the battlefield just some coward insurgents who are outnumbered and outgunned are hiding out and pretending to be so freaking good when bombing civilians and take some aughful shot at the soldiers and getting owned in return with a M16 burst shot. Everyone who is fighting arabs terrorists get to know the meaning of guerilla warfare because they are cowards who only know how to bomb civilians including children and to say that they are freedom fighter screw all of them i hope the Marines just shoot more of them this month

Why do some of you still believe that the war in Iraq is about democracy. If I thought that I would count myself as one of the most stupid people around. The reason given for the war was WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION remember? That was then changed to WAR ON TERROR and later changed to THE DICTATOR. Then DEMOCRACY.

But somewhere along the way companies with ties to the BUSH and CHENEY families were involved in shipping oil out. Please cut the c**P about bringing democracy or other stuff. This , to be honest can be defined as terrorism and stealing.

Brave American and British soldiers?? That is a joke. You can not be brave stealing others country or wealth. You can not be brave fighting with most advanced armouries facing people with most primitive, home made methods defending their land and people. You can not be brave killing innocents, torturing and make fun of natives. If all, it is vile, evil and coward. This must be stopped and punished.Get out of Iraq.

h8jwb has got it spot on.

Why do you only care about the US and UK deaths? What about the countless thousands of INNOCENT Iraqi men, women and children who have perished in this dreadful war? Do you care about them? Did they ask for the US to invade? NO!! Almost every aspect of life in Iraq since the war has got worse...sorry,this makes me so mad when people only place value on our own lives.

The Voice has put a far more eloquent and articulate case than I have-I'm with him/her too.

Robspierre has made an even better case.

When the sectarian violence gets too much, America will withdraw.
I thought you were supposed to have a plan of action when you invade a country. I don't see much evidence of it in Iraq..
War, in a democratic country, is to defend your own country.
Not to bomb the **** out of somewhere to line your own pockets, as GWB and his cronies have done.
It's an absolute disgrace, and America will never be seen again as a peacekeeping nation.
Just like the Roman, The American Empire is crumbling.

No the war is not worth it - the lives of the marines lost there are far more valuable than to be thrown away for a silly presidential grudge
