Seeing how this election was primarily based around the war in Iraq, and the dominance the Democratic party showed last night. What sort of realistic timeline do you think we will see with our troops being pulled out of Iraq and Afganistan?

Looks like the balance in the House has switch but the Republicans still have control of the Senate. Currently the situation in 49 for the Republicans and 47 for the Dems. Even if the Dems do take those two states, the Senate will be stuck in a dead even tie. The two independents could carry the Senate either way. But, for now Republicans still have its power structure, with the presidency and the Senate.

I predict, Bush will veto many bills the demos try to pass, and Demos will not be able to overide vetoes. In essence America we got a do nothing Congress now.
Americans get what they vote for. Vote for the nobody's and get nothing. America you are truly idiots.
Especially the Repubs who voted for Demos.

Honetly, im not pro-terrorist or anti-american or anything (like some of you will think) but why are some of you hiding behind your all-mighty Bush trembling in false fear of a major terrorist attack againg on US Soil?

You see why i would think you would think im anti-american?

No one has the balls anymore to attack us on a major scale again. If Bush has done one good thing it is show [terrorists, not necessarily the whole world] that we wont put up with it. The threat has passed, and i dont feel one bit threatened anymore. I admit, at first it was frightening, but since it has been 6 years and nothing has happened, i am begining to doubt Bush's intentions. Is he luring the country into a false sense of security by threatening them with the promise of more terrorist attacks just to justify this war, or phone tapping...and worse yet, are Americans, in general, dumb enough to believe it?

You tell me!

culture? There are answers that say "America is a giant melting pot." But then there are answers that say "Immigrants have to assimulate and follow our culture." I am confused. What should I do? In Cuba, we did not have this problem.

Ohio has just passed a law that makes it illegal to smoke in public places. What do you think of this? Is this law another deprivation of personal freedom, or is it really for the greater good? Second hand smoke is harmful to others, but so is my tee-off shot on the front nine. Where do we draw the line at restricting civil liberties for the greater good at the individual's expense?
