In my impression, I do not notice any gays in the Democratic party. Do you? If so, name a few so I can stand corrected.

There are gays in both parties, Barney Franks being the most prominent of the Dems, he's been "out" for a long time. Most gays probably feel they have to hide it or not get elected - there are way too many people around who would still consider that disqualifying.

People need to distinguish between someone being gay and being a pedophile. Pedophiles can be gay or straight - and most gays, like most straights, do NOT molest children.

From Wiki: The Log Cabin Republicans is a federated political organization in the United States with state chapters and a national office in Washington, DC. The group consists of gays, lesbians and bisexuals who are also supporters of the Republican Party.

On January 1, 2003, Patrick Guerriero succeeded Rich Tafel as the leader of the Log Cabin Republicans. Guerriero faced sharp criticism from both the left and the right. Guerriero stepped down as leader of the Log Cabin Republicans on September 1, 2006 to lead the Gill Action Fund. He was replaced by Tim Schoeffler. Patrick Sammon is the current executive vice president and runs its day to day operations.

Log Cabin Republicans are outed gay Republicans who somehow believe there is room for them in the political party that also seems to have room for the likes of Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell. There are lots of very dangerous "Root Cellar" Republicans still not "out" there like the so called Rev, Haggard and an aid to Bush who wrote the anti-gay plank in the Republican Platform in 2004.

A Log Cabin Republican is either a gay person who has a lot of money tied into the party, or a gay person who hates themself very, very much. Very, Very Much.

Democrats tend to believe in a "live and let live" attitude, minding their own business and not putting their noses into everyone else's bedroom (like right-wing republican neocons do). You'll find 99.9% of the gay community are Democrats, I'm sure.

Just go to a right-wing republican website to find a list of gay Democrats. They keep lists, you know. Kinda like the Nazis did.

Google "Log Cabin Republican".

Barney Frank. A few others.

The Log Cabins are an organization of gay republicans/conservatives. There are more of those than you'd think. They are mostly interested in taxes, etc. Usually they are socially liberal, but fiscally conservative.

The answer to your first question is- I don't think 'log cabin' refers to gays.

And no, there are not more gays in the Republican Party.

And you're last question is extremely uninformed.

EDIT* - I see answers referring to 'log cabin Republicans'. On that, I stand corrected. But the term ' log cabin ' refers to other things as well. I wish it was in the dictionary, but it's not in mine.

Barney Frank is the most famous homo in the dems. His prostitute boyfriend ran a stable out of his house and office, yet barney still holds office and his head high. It is OK to have a sex scandal and be a dem. In fact, they like you more.

I don't know. I don't care to keep track of such things - they're not important to me.

BTW, Jesi has her facts seriously wrong.
