My grandfather recently passed away and we found a letter stating he won the Army Bronze Star during WWII in the Phillipines. Just want to find out why he got it for family history.

Obviously, it is impossible to reach out to the brainwashed ditto heads, but what steps are you taking? I don't feel like I'm doing enough either, but I am writing letters to the editor and talking to friends and family to get each important vote.

Suppose that instead of income taxes the government taxed us on things society generally considers vices and frivolities? So, instead of collecting taxes from everyones income we put a tax on things like alcohol, cigarettes and porn? It wouldnt even have to be a very large tax, a 1 cent tax on every soda sold in the United States would bring in billions of dollars of revenue.
Also, we could tax things like yachts. Unless its your livelihood, like if you are a fisherman for a living, we put a tax on yachts. Or unless you have so many children, there will be a tax on mansions. I mean, unless you can prove you need that frivolity, you must pay a tax on it. A tax on any car that gets less than 30mpg. A tax on any jewelry that costs more than a hundred grand. That kind of thing. What do you think?

I heard that he admitted to a Christian radio program that he did not even read "Prop 2", the proposed stem cell research amendment to the Missouri Constitution, so he wouldn't even have known what he was endorsing. Isn't that kind of shooting from the hip on a Constitutional Amendment?

Disclaimer: Anyone who voted for George W Bush in the 2004 election should immediately schedule a meeting with the psychologist nearest you...thank you.

George W. Bush's presidency appears headed for colossal historical disgrace. Barring a cataclysmic event on the order of the terrorist attacks of September 11th, after which the public might rally around the White House once again, there seems to be little the administration can do to avoid being ranked on the lowest tier of U.S. presidents. And that may be the best-case scenario. Many historians are now wondering whether Bush, in fact, will be remembered as the very worst president in all of American history.

From time to time, after hours, I kick back with my colleagues at Princeton to argue idly about which president really was the worst of them all. For years, these perennial debates have largely focused on the same handful of chief executives whom national polls of historians, from across the ideological and political

My brother is in bootcamp right now, about 2 weeks in.... anyway, I am doing all of his finances and I was told that he gets paid from the Army on the 15th and 30th of each month. I thought that the check would be automatically deposited, but I was recently told that they receive their check in bootcamp and then they have to money order the money to whom ever they are sending in. Which one is correct?

Marcus Cicero said there is a digresion of govt from a republic to socialist to anarchy to rule by a tyrant. This seems to have happened in Greek and Roman history and they were considered to have reached the top of civilized society. Do you see the same pattern today?

Several times now police have threaten to ticket me or other friends who are dropping someone off in a No Parking zone. When we pointed out that we were Standing, not parking, they got irate and said that it was the same thing. I KNOW I took drivers ed a long time ago, but I was sure those were 3 different things - No Standing, No Sitting and No Parking. I have seen signs that say No Parking No Standing, when that's what was intended. THANKS!

Not sacrificing our morals or lowering our standards as Hollywood wants us to do, in the name of freedom, but give up something that is dear to us, an expression of our freedom, that holds us in suffering to our attachments.

The CIA has a term "Blow-back". Blow back is the real tangible retaliation that the public endures for secret missions that our government has been performing across the globe since 1949. The "terrorists" are commonly regular people who are sick of American interests and interference in their society. When they attack us publicly, such as 9/11 it leads to blow-back, or in other words thousands of people who run to their elected leaders asking "why do they hate us?". To which the leaders today say they hate our lifestyle, our freedoms, they are jealous, they want global theocratic society. None of which is true. What most of them want is our government, and troops to take their hands out of the pie. Get out of their country, get out of their governments, and stop interfering in their every day lives.

Source(s):

Blow back is seen by the public as unwarranted attacks. And since the operations, assasinations, government infuence, and puppet governments are all top secret stuff, the public is left with no link between the public attack they see, and the reasons why the attack happened.
13 years with the CIA.
