Obviously, it is impossible to reach out to the brainwashed ditto heads, but what steps are you taking? I don't feel like I'm doing enough either, but I am writing letters to the editor and talking to friends and family to get each important vote.

OK, Thanks! Michael, the kind words were definately refreshing! Sometimes, with all the brainwashed ditto-heads who seem so prevelent, it feels like we are speaking to the wind. The response to this question (sorry I posted it twice, Don't know why it did that) has definately made me feel as though there are others out there who are listening and appreciate the extra voice.

Creston and Yes:

Yes, I did like your responses, even if I disagree with your views, participation is the key to the preservation of Democracy. So even if you support candidates I don't, I respect you for participating in the "Great Experiment."

Everything within my power. However you will not like my answer. As long as we elect Demapublicans and Republicrats to office the people of this country will have no voice in Washington DC. The time has come where the established political parties are doing more harm than good to the people they represent. The special interest groups and the power/money distributors will do anything except what the people of the United States feel is necessary. They will invent things like terrorist acts and weapons of mass destruction in order to get you to approve of the outrageous spending for the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, while pi*sing off most of the rest of the world. So when you cast your ballot look beyond the confines of the two party system and get us back on track by selecting candidates that truly reflect your stand on the issue and not a party line full of lies and deceit.

Yes one CAN do more than vote. The Democratic "get out the vote effort" will be critical. The Repukes have a "vig" or cheat percentage. I don't know whether it helps but I'm calling people at Dem HQ (you DO know where this is in your area??) whenever possible. It's a bit late to put out lawn signs, or write letters to the editor about your fav candidate(s) but still possible. It helps to have a LOT of friends and relatives within your locality so that you can identify any reluctant voter Democrats among them. I don't have any money to give, but if you do, I think they would find a way to use it at this late date.

If we don't put a little effort forward and ask people to educate themselves on the candidates and the issue , not just vote party lines , we have let this country down , this election .
If we get the same old people back in office again , then we can't complain if there is no change , in that Congress is a , do nothing Congress . .
I like you , have been doing my shear , thank you for doing yours . We need more like you to step up and be counted .
We the People have to take charge and let Government know that , 'We're mad as hell and we're not going to take it anymore " !!!

I am going door to door supporting our Republican candidate here. He is a moral candidate with very strong ethics.

Although some Republicans are not moral (Foley) or ethical (Delay) i still will vote for mostly GOP candidates this November (The Mayor I am voting for is a Democrat).

We all must look at each candidate and see what he has done in the past (Ted Kennedy)and what he is planning for the future.

For example, if your candidate for Senate once got drunk and killed a girl and didnt tell anyone for 24 hours, dont vote for him because he is an immoral and murderous man.
If your candidate has a clean slate with honest values vote for him.

With the party's back against the wall, the Republican sleaze machine went into high gear this past week, appealing to the inherent racism, bigotry and homophobia that lie within GOP extremists, hoping that fear and ignorance will turn the tide in an election they can't win on truth or the issues. The Republican National Committee paid for a television ad in the Tennessee Senate Race, hoping that racial overtones can derail Democratic candidate Harold Ford by suggesting he chases white women and parties with Playboy centerfolds. "We made race an issue in Tennessee ," bragged one GOP political operative. "That always plays in our favor." Yes, it does. The Republican Party is so overrun with racists, bigots and homophobes that appealing to such stupidity always plays in their favor.

The words to the American people are stop being so obnoxiously gluttonous and start paying your way so your kids and grand kids don't have your gluttony to pay for for generations after you kill yourselves with diabetes, and other glutton diseases. Pay down your own national debt and quit destroying the Earth so others will have a decent place to repair after you are all dead.
