In all of these political discussions I've yet to see a well thought debate presented by a right wing mind. You may not like the left but we are more prone to discussion as adults.

Feel free to present an open point of view we can debate, without namecalling... such as paper voting verification, gay rights, holding our current leadership accountable...

This is NOT a personal situation so please no "get a job" remarks or personal attacks.

If you try to claim Income Support they take into account, not your partner's wages but how many hours he/she works. And the limit is 16.

So if, for example, your partner worked 18 hours at a minimum wage job and brought home somethign like £80 a week they would refuse you Income Support.

Yet £80 a week is less than the law says a couple need to live on).

So how do they justify that?

BTW as for Working Tax Credits, you can't claim them if you'rer under 25 (unless you have kids) or you work under 30 hours a week.

I'm going to graduate from college in the spring with a degree in International Relations and a minor in Arabic. I've been thinking about joining the military for a while now, and it does seem like something I'd really like to do. I want the adventure and the experience most of all. Of course, it doesn't hurt that they'll pay a large chunk of my college loans as well. Yet, at the same time I have been with my girlfriend for a little over 4 years now, and marriage is definitely in the picture, and I'm not so sure that I can ask her to go through with me being deployed on and off for 3 or 4 years. What I'm wondering is, is a new marriage sustainable while on member of the marriage is gone in the military for such long periods of time? Also, is there anywhere else I can get the kind of adventure and experience that the Army offers? It seems like such a unique experience, and while things like the FBI, peace corps, etc interest me too, they just don't have that same appeal.

does this mean the Bush Administration would have been just fine about invading any other middle eastern dictatorships with a ruthless dictator? There are plenty of nations to choose from. How about Syria, Lebanon, Sudan, Yemen, Bahrain, Qatar, Omar, or Dubai?
After all, Bush said that if he knew what he knew now, he still would have invaded Iraq.
But no, instead he disregarded the Intelligence reports that came right before we invaded in March of 2003 which stated there is no hard evidence to confirm Saddam has a nuclear arms development program.
Don't you agree that Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld should admit there was no good reason to invade Iraq? Because if we are going to invade Iraq, we might as well invade nearly every other middle eastern nation and regime.

Seeing as the British Govt was asked to support the war on terrorism, and came to thier aid without question, reservation, or hesitation, isn't it sad that USA did not come to the aid of Britain when dealing with the N.I. problem during 1969 - 1998?
