At times. Just as it is the case with individuals, it is very difficult to get ahead in life or be successful unless you have the support of those you work with, etc. The world situation is complicated, and much smaller than it use to be. We rely upon the economies and the resources of many outside of the U.S. and we need to keep good relations on that level. However, there is another level, which is protecting the freedom of others and ourselves. The U.S. has always drawn a line and has stepped up when the freedoms of others' have been infringed upon. I don't think we can stop now. Additionally, because the world is much smaller we have alliances and responsibilities to those alliances.

So, bottom line, if you're talking about an ideal we are defending, no, it doesn't matter what other nations think. I think a majority of the Iraqis know we are there to help and many countries also support our efforts (even if they are not willing to step up themselves). In all my travels around the world I have always been respected and loved because I was an american, even if we did have disagreements.
