I heard thru a friend that condoms are being used by service personnel on rifles..?? Can this be true?

Condoms are often placed over the barrel of weapons by soldiers in the field. This is done to keep the barrel clean and free of dirt, mud, water, etc. that could stop the weapon from operating correctly.

A dirty weapon has a greater risk of misfires or jams during operation, and not something that one wants to happen if they get in a life or death situation.

Condoms are used to keep the wet and cr*p out. Tampon towels can also be used for wound dressings, and often are!
