I'm not a lawyer, but I did stay at a Holiday Express once.......

Folks remember those 10 Commandments??? Life goes a lot easier if you follow them. Then You won't have problems like this. I have a FBI application arround somewhere. I'm 100% sure this is a question on it. Please note folks this is about selling drugs, not use. While there is some wiggle room for use, Dealling is different. The fact you were not convicted helps. As long as you were not found guilty, You should get by. A backround check will find what sort of company you have been keeping, so beware. LOOSE THE DRUGGIE FRIENDS NOW! While some may admire you changed ways, If I was a HR person I'd give you thge 3rd degree before giving you an OK. The last thing they need is a dirty cop risk. In my book your a risk.....

Yes they will ask, so you better tell the truth. If you put it on your app or slide it into the interview, when they poly comes up, you would have already given them an explanation for it. It's better to tell the truth than to be caught in a lie. They know that people are not perfect and that we all make mistakes. Honesty shows trust and integrity. Good Luck!

My brother in law is a fireman. He had to take a poly and they asked him about all the drugs he had done in his life. He was completely honest, and got the job despite years of smoking pot and the occasional hard drug. I think they were looking for the integrity to be honest, and not to condemn him for what he had done as a teen.

usually any offense you commit under the age of 18 or 17 depending on the state, comes off your record, and usually by law juvenile courts have to toss your information, your best bet is to clearly state what you did at what age, and that way, you'll be honest, and you'll pass the poly with flying colors, hiring boards look down on people who lie on the application, so just say what you did, why you did it, and what you learned out of it leading to why you have not done it again and why you would never do it again.....good luck....

Yes it probably will. You won't be arrested because the statute limitations would have run out and polygraphs aren't accepted as true court evidence, but it will certianly make anybody think twice if you test postive for pushing.

If you've turned your life around since then, try to make as good an impression as you can.

Were you caught? If there's no record I wouldn't worry about it. It's part of the past, and you were a minor. As long as you're not out there dealing now just forget about it and move on.

*At least you may have some sympathy for light users - stuff should be legal!

It may or it may not. But if you lie on the polygraph and get caught, that most surely will effect you becoming a police officer.

There are many departments that will not allow you to ever work for them. Others can allow an exception

Answer truthfully.... most juvi crimes are ignored.
Most of our local cops were the biggest juvi offenders when they were younger. It seems to attract them.
