That would in no way excuse him for his actions. This guy was on CNN saying that Foley is in no way a pedophile because he had no sexual contact with a minor. His texts messages and emails were very explicit and posted to a child. Maybe not physical but diffenitely sexual contact.

I find it's very tough on people, either getting good insurance or being able to afford any at all, or a job that offers it! I think it's rotten that many people either take a job they do not like just for insurance or stay in a job for the same reason! What would be a good solution??

MSNBC May Drop Live Newscasts

Industry buzz has it that MSNBC, the perennial also-ran in cable news, is considering the prospect of essentially dropping its live-news format and devoting itself entirely to taped, newsmagazine-style programming.

And much of its content could likely be repackaged from NBC News. One indication of the possible move came in July when the network launched a newsmagazine, "MSNBC Investigates,” the industry publication Broadcasting & Cable points out in a recent edition.

Also, NBC News President Steve Capus said this summer that more product from "Dateline: NBC” would show up on MSNBC.

And during the past few months there have been discussions about moving the cable channel’s Secaucus, N.J., headquarters to Rockefeller Center in Manhattan, where it would have easier access to the NBC News library.

"The unspoken truth in all of this speculation is that there are simply too many all-news networks and only so many people to watch them,” according to Broadcasting & Cable.

"As the owner of a network that’s stuck at the bottom of the cable news heap, NBC Universal has little choice but to make a radical change if it wants to differentiate MSNBC from what the other guys are doing.”

I was watching the 2004 election results here in England and I can remember early in the night Dan Rather urging people to vote. If my memory of the event is accurate, the early results where looking as thought the Republicans where going to get a landslide victory but not all of the polls had closed in some states.

If this is correct, could it have been seen as a political act?

If my memory of this is correct, how come some polls where still open, was it something to do with the time difference?

Can they survive the truth being told?

Will they manage to wag the dog?

Will they be able to dump the blame on Democrats and come out smelling like roses?

Just seems odd they seperate themselves by refering to all Hispanics ( even legal citizens ) as Mexicans. They also belive speaking Spanish in America is acceptable, when all this does is cut off the lines of communication between people living within the same country.

They don't have school shootings massacres anywhere, BUT AMERICA!

Hummmm.

Maybe if the USA got out of the wild west mentality....then maybe shooting massacres would be a lot rarer.

I am going to ask a hypothetical question. It is the sort of question you may have trouble answering honestly, but I would like you to try.
It is akin to the question: if you were among the survivors of a shipwreck, in a lifeboat, would you work for the survival of the group, or would you be primarily concerned with your own survival. It would be hard to admit you would be selfish in this circumstance, so it is a hard question both to ask and answer.

Here is my question: if the country you are living in became over night a police state, would you submit to the martial law, or would you begin to work in the resistance?

Give it your best shot. Only you know if your answer is honest.

Why does everyone assume illegal immigrants are harder workers than regular citizens?
Would you not work harder if you knew you were here temporarily and had to go back to your family? And you knew when you got there, you would have enough money to NOT have to work for a long while.
An illegal can work a min wage job and bring home more than a citizen working a job at 12 bucks an hour. Think about it.
Then the citizen cannot get health benefits and food stamps due to their income. A person on min wage can.
Also, the illegal immigrant will pay way less bills because about 10 of them live in one apartment and all ride in one car.

ANDOVER -- If Abraham Lincoln were alive and waging the war on terror, our greatest Republican president might be doing the same thing George W. Bush is doing as commander in chief.

Infuriating the Democrats.

Lincoln no doubt would find it necessary to suspend the writ of habeas corpus -- the right of one to challenge imprisonment in front of a judge -- and his wishes would include doing so for U.S. citizens who might exhibit excessive antiwar sentiment.

But chances also are that by now, more than 31/2 years into the war in Iraq, Lincoln would have raised taxes, reinstituted a draft, fired generals until he found his Ulysses S. Grant and crafted a speech eloquently defining for a divided populace why the last, best hope
of Earth is right to "give confidence to the people in the contested regions that the insurgent power will not again overrun them." (Lincoln's words in December 1863, not Bush's in 2006.)
