I work for a police department and I can say that most cops are definitely conservative.

I worked around police officers for more than 20 years. I have never met a liberal cop. I agree with your friend.

I am conservative, I even think Rush Linbaugh is too liberal.
But most are over all the board from liberal to communist, and you have alot liberals also in some views.
I doubt there is one type or even one reason why they are officers
