I think he's proudly hanging onto something that he knows can't be won. He has a lot to lose by openly admitting failure on such a large scale, and probably won't do so anytime soon. In my opinion, it's less denial than stubborn pride.

Neddie, I am thinking he is totally divorced from reality.
He has no clue as to what he's done, or what the consequences of his bogus war on Iraq and later on, " terra " itsself.
He could have waged war on evil for all this sense his foreign policy makes.
He is being played by Cheney et al, like a game of checkers.
Its time for Jr to go to his room in Crawford and stay there.

Ive always wondered about this question. Does it mean that we should have done nothing and let Saddam do what he pleased ? I mean, everyone on the planet thought he had weapons of mass destruction. He was given a chance to back out of the invasion. Why didn't he do it then? Also, why is it that if you attack terrorists you are creating more of them? What should we have done? Nothing? If you'll recall, that's what got us into this mess in the first place. Bin Laden thought we were weak.

Of course he may partly be, but also it seems like he is bidding his time to see what is the best course of action for him and for the republicans .The war is becoming even more horrible and there are more deaths but the problem is that no one is owning up to admit mistakes and do what is best for our country instead of for their own benefit . This is a losing war no matter what for both sides . They have both lost lives and there is no benefit basically except to a few .

Would you not have to have brain activity to be in denile, I think he is brain dead myself. He must know that he is killing solders every day with his stay the course mentality. I wonder if he will ever say he is sorry for getting us into this unwinable war. Nobody can win it, shades of Vietnam.

the Iraqi's are killing themselves. the shi-ites are trying to exterminate the Sunni's. is this bush's fault ? the Islamic population can't figure out which sect of Islam is the right one. they are killing each other. we are going to have to get strong and adopt an iron hand policy.
