I'm a law student intern for a juvenile court. Our county has tons of oustanding court costs/fines/fees from juveniles. I've been researching Lexis/Westlaw for a couple of weeks with no luck.
1)can parents be held responsible for their minor child's financial orders/judgments?
2) Or, must the parents be ordered to pay fines/costs?
3) If so, must that order be made specifically at the time of the hearing or can it be made later as a method of recovery?

I'm looking specifically for Ohio law but will take anything at this point. I have found alot of info regarding parental responsibility in regard to restitution, detention costs but nothing specially (caselaw, statute) as to whether this extends for court fees. Would adding a disclaimer/signature area to a payment plan for juveniles that parents would sign assuming responsibility hold up under the law since contracts typically aren't enforceable against minors? Any help is appreciated.

I had three felonies that were dropped down to misdemeanors after complettion of my propation. I never violated probation and have had a clean record except these and no trouble with the law ever since. Any and all information helpful.. I am in Minnesota and I am sure each state is different, but an idea of the process will help.

seems 3 resolves to iraq.
cut & run
stay the course
increase troops.
increasing troops & maybe resolving situation might have to involve a draft? in which case college defermits might not fly & rich kids might be game. pelicans [as all us birds] try to keep their kids from harm's way. so.
will forthcomig elections produce candidate with pro-draft agenda & how popular will that be?
its all fine 4 jesus has paid 4 the sins....chirp!

while the Neocon agenda lumbers on, fiscal conservatives, contructionists, federalists.. meat and potato republicans wonder what happened to their party ?
I know this wasn't what you expected... how will you reassemble your party in the wake of The BushCo. ? how do you come back with any credibility from this Hijack ?

Also before the Dunder heads start heckling.. you are not conservatives ..you have sided with reckless war profiteers that victimize you along side the rest of your fellow Americans so save us all the lip service by saying something new. Or better still just shut up for once..

Nobody's totally Liberal. Nobody's totally Conservative. What makes you decide to step on either side of the line, and why is it so hard for anyone to make the trek across? Why are values used as a sole purpose for the left vs right fight? I have mostly Liberal values. Mostly, not all. Just because an animal has wings and a beak, doesn't make it a falcon.

People are being held there because they are alledgedly a threat to the national security of the US.
Because of the actions and foreign policy of GWB,the national security of the US is currently under greater threat than it has ever been in its entire history.
Therefore should George be given a one-way ticket to Cuba?

I mean, has the health system of your country to be paid directly by the pacient or is it paid through taxes, which is the case of my country (Brazil)?

Is there public hospitals where anyone can be assisted for free? Or they all are just like the American universities: all are paid.

In my country, there is a system called SUS (Sistema Único de Saúde), where the population don't need to pay at the time of the assistence. It's for free. The problem, the only one, is when the assistence is done (bc the hospital queues are in general big).

How is that in the USA?

Tnx,

I got 2 felonies several years ago, and they were expunged from my record. Now they are showing up when I get pulled over and when I apply for an apt. I did everything the court asked of me on time. My attorney said that there must be a loophole somewhere and my info got leaked out. Now when anyone pulls up my record, it looks like I still have these charges. My lawyer has suppose to been working on getting this resolved for about a year now and he hasnt shown me any results. Is there any group or organization that can help fix this?

Despite the colossal failure and utter repudiation of fundamental leftwing economic theory, in the post-Communist era many nations are still stubbornly clinging to the remnants of Marxism. Capitalism and free markets have proven to be only force that can generate wealth and prosperity, improving the lives of people. How can we hasten the end of Socialism?

you know, in light of this innapropriate behavior by the congressman and him emailing sexually explicit and innapropriate things to those pages, since when did it become a democrat or republican problem.? this has nothing to do with politics and he should not be dealt with as a politician. he(allegedly) is a sick man like so many others who pray on young children to fullfill their sick sexual fantasies. he should be dealt with as a pedophile and go to prison. even though these charges are alleged, you have to wonder why someone would all of the sudden just quit their job. if you were innocent of the charges, why would you not want to fight to preserve your good name. this leads me to beleive that he knew he was guilty and quickly took the easy way out. if found to be true he should be imprisoned and made to apologize publicly infront of congress. what is america coming to?

And can you name some horribly hypocritical things that these people have done in their personal lives that does not match their politics.

For instance, Al Franken graduated with honors from Harvard, has been married to the SAME woman for over 20 years.
What 'disgraceful' immoral things has Michael Moore done in his personal life that you know about like we know about Rush?

For all of you who don't know, gay men and women who have had sex with gay men are banned from giving blood. Women are only banned for 12 months, but gay men are banned indefinitely.
I am currently writing the FDA to complain about the discrimination facing gay men so if anyone has any resources to help, it would be appreciated. I would encourage you to write the FDA as well. Any resources/law material would be very helpful!
