People are being held there because they are alledgedly a threat to the national security of the US.
Because of the actions and foreign policy of GWB,the national security of the US is currently under greater threat than it has ever been in its entire history.
Therefore should George be given a one-way ticket to Cuba?

I definitely agree.... and the comment above from Hydie is particularly ignorant. If all citizens over the years had simply uprooted when faced with a particularly appalling leader then no nation states would have been created , no revolutions fought for and we in the "free world" would not have the so called rights we have today. And yes - it is possible for some of us just to up and leave - however some are not so fortunate. but back to the question - yep give him a one way ticket. Id even buy it for him x

U got your perception wrong dude. I am a Malaysian (not a Muslim tho) living in a Muslim country. My country do not offend/oppose any country including Iraq, US or Afghanistan in terms of foreign policies. Yet, there are a number of our muslim citizens who has been caught and put in jail without trial due to their link with Al-Qaeda, Jeemah Islamiah and other terrorist groups for wanting to bomb their own country. In fact, 2 of them are currently being detained in Guantanamo Bay without trial. Believe me, detention without trial is one way to make sure these extremists do not get the chance to communicate with the outside world and have any influence whatsoever. Now, we do not have any threats and the few extremists have fled Malaysia to countries that harbour extremists to avoid detention. The reason of them joining these groups is due to the fact that they want to rule the world by creating a group of extremists country. Initially they succeded in Afghanistan. What happened? They sent their men from there to bomb anybody who goes against them. Now? They are on the run, unable to carry out major destruction to countries that are fighting terrorism. Eliminating terrorism is the way forward, and this will be the main agenda of any President that comes to the Oval office. If u don't go for them, they'll pay u a visit. Which would u prefer dude?

I wonder how many answerers realise that this website is not just for the United States ? The whole world is here, and most of us are happy where we are, thanks, no desire to emigrate.

It's not for a non-US citizen to make such a decision, but I can see how you'd want to. Then again, he is a human being (just) and no one should be held without charge or trial.

I'll just sit back and watch the anti European hate mail roll in...

He put our country in jeopardy when he was elected the first time and to put him back in office a second time was completely foolish and yes I agree with you he should be sent there and held like he is holding those people with out trial everything he does makes it worse to deal with other countries. And puts are military in danger that they will be treated in the same manner if captured.

No, I think he should go to one of his CIA interrogation centers over in Syria first. He should have a taste of his own medicine.
Of course, his trial couldn't happen; all of his defense materials would be state secrets, so we can't give any of that information out in court.

I can think of two that would be better suited to go. They are both named John. Kerry and Murtha.
