if you can prove that it's him who did it then of course you can win.

What did he buy $800 of sea food - small clams.

Seriously though, it will take some proving as the evidence will be hard to obtain. It could be a criminal matter and the threat of reporting the matter to the Police may make him pay up. The other alternative is to see a Lawyer but the cost may mean that you are chasing bad money with good...........

Regrettably, you are on the hook for the credit card debt because of the agreement that exists between you (the consumer) and the credit card company.

Whether your ex is on the hook to reimburse you directly depends on whether you intended the charges to be a loan or a gift to him. It would be difficult to prove it was a loan, given that you were presumably in a relationship at the time.

I'm sorry I don't have better news, but the fact is that he doesn't have the incentive to pay the bill that you do. Sorry this happened.

Best to pay it off yourself and sue him to get it back.

I am not familiar with the special small "clams" court. But if it is small clams you are seeking, 800 of them should be easy to get as long as your claim is legitimate.

By the way, never give anyone access to your own finances unless you would be willing to also give that person Power of Attorney.

Clams!!! I love um! Both kinds.

If you can prove it then you would win but It would be stupid to take him to small claims court.. He might not even show up and if he did he probably wouldn't pay you anyways... So you would be wasting your money and your time going through the whole process...

Very good. You should sue the crap out of him. However, you also need to cancel your card and get another in your name, without him.

You'll need to prove it first.
