I posted a question earlier about how some people close to me died while their killers only got 15 years. I know some people don't believe in the death penalty but if a criminal gets life in prison, who do you think is paying for their food and everything else? Does the punishment fit the crime? I don't think so. My cousin got shot and it wasn't one time. Try getting shot PURPOSELY in both your kneecaps with an AK47 and then in your chest while you're walking your gf to her car. Is 15 years right for that crime? My friend was stabbed to death (over 50 times) by her jealous ex bf. He's in prison. I'm not sure what's gonna happen to him. Maybe life in prison? If you commmit a horrendous crime shouldn't you die the same way?

My son wants to join the Army, but I want to get info on enlistment bonuses. He wants to be an MP, I know he can get a bonus because the Army is hard up for MP's, how do we push the issue to get him one?

if someone in a joking way wrote a check of someone else's to the owner of the check but wrote void on it. also wrote goofy things on it. then left the check in the checkbook for that person. is that still fraud?

don't they want to build one in Canada also? Terrorists came freely in airplanes, received passports, went to flight schools and so on. Nothing to do with Illegal immigrants. They don't come in airplanes, they don't have passports, they don't attend colleges. So why they try to make a connection?

I wouldn't be surprised if the terrorists even received financial aid jaja.

My point is that Mexican border has little to do with terrorism. The same as the Canadian border.

So why do congresspeople make this connection?

I think the recent drop in gas prices are tied into the upcoming elections. I noticed the same thing happening during the last one. There were alligations of the current officials in power not keeping a lid on fuel prices, while oil brought in record profits. As the elections got closer, so did the prices fall. Any comments?

I'm writing a short story for a literary journal. One of the story's characters is a gulf war veteran. I want to know the disparaging or racist names that soldiers use for the local civilians, e.g. "Hagi, LBG, etc." What do they call bad guys? I want jargon, soldier talk. thanks to all.

p.s. I apologize in advance to anyone who may take offense at some of the responses. I'm just looking for realism and truth for an accurate characterization of attitudes and hostilities towards people of the reagion.

They say they invade Iraq to promote American freedom, liberty, prosperity and so on. In other words, they supposedly supported the war on humanitarian reasons... yet, they want to kick out immigrants that come south of the border. Didn't they want to promote prosperity on other people? They build walls in the border, didn't they wanted to share and promote liberty?

So I guess they just went to Iraq for the oil, and for their companies to get richer selling all the war material to the army.

im 25, and my friend informed me that we were part of the older generation, and the people who graduated later then us is part of the new Clinton generation. Do you believe this to be true, or do you see a pattern in this? They act different, like what is in it for me, and they do not seem to care about others according to my friend. How about if the USA govt printed phamplets (just like the the ones that the Mexcian govt made to help its citizens get into the USA) for the Mexicans to help them get into canada....(please do note that some Mexicans already have moved all the way to canada but the number is quite small at present).......

do you think america is too easy on criminals? i don't think we're hard enough on criminals. for instance my cousin was murdered and his killer is only serving 15 years but you know damn well he'll be out sooner than that. you hear about people going away for having a little bit of drugs on them or being at the wrong place at the wrong time. isn't there something wrong w/that? why do they continue to let molesters out? they continue to molest when they get out. i don't understand our justice system. my friend got murdered too and i'm sure her ex bf will get 15 years too. what a shame. her family will never see her again. why do they get a second chance if their victims never will?

I'm doing a mock trial on the trial of King Louis XVI. I'm the defense, and I was wondernig what would be some good points/documents I could bring up to prove he was innocent? Or to counter what the prosecution might bring up.

Also, why was he tried for treason? What did he do wrong? Besides the fact that he was caught fleeing from his country.

I know of a case where a forteen year old girl has alleged abuse from her mother. The mother has hired a lawyer who claims to represent both the mother and the daughter. This sounds insane to me. Does a minor have the right to have their own representation? Are their any lawyers out there who can tell me?
