It's been worse. It's been better.
It does seem to be on a downward trend lately. Our country is usually much better at working with other countries and smoothing down conflict, but the current administration scorns diplomacy, so bad has gone to worse.

I am tempted to say it is as it is and it is all relative BUT the problem with this philosophical position is that our world is getting very crowded. There are nuclear capabilities which can be used at any time. We really can't understand what a World Wide Catastrophe would do to our world. I believe it is only a matter of time till we have an all out nuclear war (or a small to medium size nuclear confrontation) and after this we may have epidemics due to the huge amount of death. Those who are looking at things saying and thinking that the world has had worse catastrophes such as the plaque are correct however this was before there were 6 billion people who could travel the planet in a couple days hence we are talking the potential for one 5th of the world dying in 20 years in a large scale catastrophe. So as far as getting worse by the day I believe it is getting closer to a huge chain of events....some might call it an Armageddon. the chain of events is being spurred on by what is happenning now geopolitically with the fight to claim the last cheap fossil fuel resources. Once we run out of oil thiings will become desparate only because our entire world is so petrolium dependant.

Yes, things are getting worse. Imagine the oil and natural resources we are exploiting from mother earth, when they're used up, they're gone. Then there're people who want to kill others who don't share their own religion. Then people are living longer, easily into their 90's and beyond, but we still expect to retire by 60's, meaning we should be saving more money with the same span of working life, that's tough!

No, I agree with you. Between, the war, medicines, diseases, the greed. The world is really turning into a place I don't really want to call home. All the raping and killing. It's really gotten out of hand.

I feel the same way, especially sense it seems like slavery is making a comeback. Or its our turn to become a third world country.

It's just you. Stop focusing the view on the bad, do you really believe that you know all the good that goes on? Try and look for it. The media will only let you see the ratings boosters.
