Over the years, PETA has engaged in various high-publicity protests, such as throwing fake blood on people who push fur fashion, a series of anti-fur advertisements featuring nude models, pamplets such as "Your Daddy Kills Animals" and so on. While these campaigns were certainly attention-getting, they have also produced a large amount of backlash and ridicule. How effective are they in influencing policy and changing public opinion?

You did mention it in your debates with John Kerry. As I recall you said maybe in december of that fine election year. What happened Mr. Bush?

I work for the Army as a Civilian as an "Item Manager". In my job I make decisions every day that effect the soldiers in the field. Opportunities come up all the time for volunteers to take short tours in theater, usually about 3-6 months.

I would really like to go because:

1) I think I would do a better job in my job if I were able to actually see how I was effecting things (instead of just seeing numbers on my computer).

2) I have a strong personal desire to see first hand a little bit of what is going on over there, the news can only show so much.

3) Much farther down the list, I would get a pretty significant boost in pay while I was there, it would also help further my career in the DoD to have it on my resume.

My wife does not threaten leaving or anything but does say very firmly that "you are not going". She says she does not want to have to worry about me over there.. I tried to tell her Id stay on base, so not as dangerous. no go

Should I quit pushing?

I think so even though they provide most of our campaign money.

IMO they are old school. The only reason they support us is for the money.

You don't even have to leave your house to vote anymore. Actually, when those annoying people from the democratic or republican party call they would be more than willing to fill out an absentee ballot request form that gets an absentee ballot sent right to your house. This leads me to my question, why do so many Americans still not vote? Should we look down upon them? Revoke voting rights? Any thoughts?

police detective "A" was having an affair with a woman who was a witness/informant to criminal activity. This detective, although part of the same department, was not one of the detectives working with the witness and had no connections with any of the cases that the witness was cooperating with.

The current system denies nearly to more than 35 million hardworking, taxpaying immigrants in the U.S. a way to earn citizenship or residence, making it easier for employers and small business to exploit them. But Democrats will stop that> Let's remember that. Mexicans,Spainards, Asians, Europeans, and other Immigrants founded and built our nation in the west.

It happens here all the time. A liberal poster posts their opinion on an issue, usually the economy, and the conservatives are quickly out to call that liberal a socialist or communist.

If being a socialist means that you favor working people instead of big corporations, then I think that a majority of Americans, including me, are socialists, since a 85% believe in raising the minimium wage, more than 50% would pay higher taxes for universal healthcare, and a majority believe that labor unions are good. However, being a socialist does not entail that. Take your petty attacks somewhere else, please.

its a huge source of revenue for the mexican gov. mexican politicians recognize the fact that if they were to, for reasons that would make no sense, discourge people from going to the US, that politician would be forced to create millions of jobs in mexico to compensate the enormous void of income. ...why would the mexico gov do that when its soooo much easier to point north when jobs are requested. as for the US gov,,it's obvious that illegals are allowed into the US so big businesses can exploit them with lower wages. as long as this goes on a growing number of products have artificially low prices. if/when illegals are forced to go home, those prices go up,,,thats the cost of cheating..and we will pay for it.

just to illustrate how bad it is....call Bank of Americas 1-800 phone number, the fifth option on the menu asks "do you want to send money to mexico?"...
THAT alone should make you crap your pants...all that money flowing out of the US on a daily basis.
